Arab Team Of The Year

The 'Arab Team Of the Year' according to a poll conducted by website Kooora.com:

Goalkeeper: Al Habsi (Oman)

Defenders: Karim Haggui (Tunisia), Nader Tarhouni (Libya), Hatem Trabelsi (Tunisia), Nadji Chouchène (Libya)

Midfielders: Abou Trika (Egypt), Lazhar Hadj Aïssa (Algeria), Riadh Bouazizi (Tunisia), Hussein Yasser (Qatar)

Strikers: Younes Mahmoud (Iraq), Malek Mouaad (Saudi Arabia)

I sometimes wonder if Arab fans actually watch any games on TV. 2 players from Libya yet only 1 from Egypt even though Egypt won the African Cup and Ahly won the African Champions League, African Super Cup and finished 3rd at the World Club cup. I wont even get into the other stuff cause its a complete joke.

Add to that the choice of Al-Habsi as a GK, I mean come on guys, just because he is in Bolton doesn't mean he gets to be chosen! He hasn't played at all!

Barca redefines football

Noone's denying that he's a good player but he's had a grand total of 0 league appearances for Bolton. A keeper like Al Hadary (Egypt) has starred for his club (Ahly) and his country (Egypt).

To be honest, there isn't a single Arab keeper I rate. They're all terrible.

If it is really based on skill I'd remove the following from the team:

Al Habsi, Haggui, Trabelsi, Tarhouni, Chouchene, Abou Trieka, Hadj Aissa, Bouazizi, Yasser, Mahmoud and Mouaad

and replace them with all with north African indoor players living Holland, Belgium and France. Only if its based purely on skill ...
