well, Iraq Banned themselves too in the 2nd Editions
because UAFA Gave us one seat in the 2nd Edition
while our FA looking for 2 seats because our Clubs did a marvelous Job in the 1st Edition

UAFA gave us 2 seats in the 3rd Edition but they made us in the low levels so that our Clubs face strong clubs
And that what happened
Now we have 1 seat in the 4th Edition

But they Funny thing our FA sent Non-Arab Club to the Arab Champions League.

But Kurdish People our Brothers and we happy for them.

The Arab FA asked Ahly to participate but the board refused.

Anyways, I think this is pretty much a useless tournament with no real value.

I don't see how Ahly can sacrifice other tournaments such as the African champions league for this one. We already have around 8 regulars injured because of the non-stop matches that the team has been playing since 2004 (the players did not get any break). Barakat, Abou Treika, Tarek El Sa3eed, Flavio, Gilberto, Emad El Na7as, Ahmad El Sayed (all starting 11) are all out injured for at least a month to 4 months.

Perhaps its easier for the Asian clubs to travel for their Asian CL games due to better conditions in Asia. But in Africa, in addition to the burdern of games, there is the burden of travelling around.

How do you guys watch this boring tourney?!

No expectations..No disappointments

Most match ups in the first 2 rounds will be boring but there's some quality teams in the tournament that should make it interesting to watch in the quarter-finals and on: RAJA, Zamalek, Ittihad (Saudi), MC Alger, Club Africain, etc..

Anyone watch the Merreikh (Sudan) vs ES Setif (Algeria) game in Khartoum???? The ref made the worst penalty call I've ever seen in my life:

http://www.algerie-football.com/essmereikhV.php

Merreikh won the game 2-0.

RAJA (Morocco) 3-3 Al Ahli (Saudi Arabia) - Al Ahli advance on away goals rule

I cant believe RAJA lost this game. Ahli got off to a quick start and were up 2-0 then RAJA replied with 3 goals to take the advantage but then Ahli scored another goal towards the end of the game. Tough loss for RAJA, good win for Ahli, scoring 3 away from home and more importantly getting that last goal when they were down 3-2.

Ismaily (Egypt) 0-0 CABBA (Algeria) - CABBA advance 5-3 on penalties

Another shocker, the last placed team in Algeria eliminating the top placed team in Egypt, with the game being played in Egypt! It was a very closed game with not too many chances both ways. Game went straight to penalties and everyone scored except the 3rd shooter for Ismaily (dont know his name).

MC Alger (Algeria) 2-2 Al Nasr (Saudi Arabia) - Al Nasr advance 4-3 on aggregate

Another Saudi team travels to North Africa and manages to advance, against two of the most supported teams nonetheless, RAJA and MCA! MCA let in a goal early, pulled 2 back to draw level on aggregate but then another stupid defensive mistake gave Al Nasr the go ahead goal. What was the coach thinking playing a 3-4-3 formation ????

Ismaily's captain Mohamed Hommos was the one who missed the spot kick.

Let's just say that not only CABBA fans loved the outcome..
