Nice effort starting these threads. Just a question - how popular is football in Oman, because I always notice that even ur NT matches don't draw too many crowds to your national stadium!

Don't lament the treachery of time;
long have dogs danced over the carcasses of lions.

Don't suppose that their dancing raises them above their masters;
for dogs remain dogs, and lions remain lions.

Insult me as you wish;
For my silence to the depraved is a response.

It's not that I have no response, but;
A lion does not reply to a dog.

Because I live in Muscat, I support Muscat.. Seeb is even near from Muscat so I support them a little bit. And even I like Oman Club as my third favourite.

In the Omani league there is just 12 teams in the first division, but it will become better in the future.
We think about the NT the most.

Football is actually very popular that whereever you see grass in the country you will find kids playing football, even next to the main road!!

The sad thing, is they hardly show up for the NT matches as you said only for the important ones. Everyone prefers to watch the games on TVs in the coffee shops with their sheesha and shawarma's p.

Anyways, the stadium is huge, fits 52,000 people. The population isn't big in Oman and in Muscat half of the population is from india ..

Anyways, the matches are attracting more people now, mainly because most of our NT players play abroad.

If we were just lucky enough, we would have won the Gulf Cup but lost in the PK against Qatar. Even Oman could have gone so far in the Asian Cup, but we got Iran and Japan. Oman could of even qualified to the WC but we got Japan and lost 1-0..
I just hope Oman gets lucky enough in this Arab Cup tournament

Yes, it was played in Qatar, but Oman didn't play so seriously... It was just a warming match for the Asian Cup qualifications..

Heavy rumours on Macala back in Oman, while Streshko has been shown the door.

Yes, I heard those rumours, and I even heard Bahrain are fighting to get him... But himself he would like to come back to Oman
