I didn't know it was confirmed. Saudi is trying to organise friendlies with Cote d'Ivoire, China and Slovakia as well.

As to being whipped, we'll see.

Saudi Arabia will definately get mashed up against Ghana. UAE, well Ghana's B team can beat them. I dont see why Ghana is playing these teams when it can get better games from European teams. Even the ones that didn't qualify such as Ireland and Russia would be good practise.

Tony,

You massively underestimate Saudi, and massively overestimate Ghana. I will be very surprised if Saudi come out with anything less than a win, provided we field a strong team (you're never sure with Calderon).

Yeah Tony, I'm quite surprised you underestimate Saudi they can be very strong on their day!

As for the UAE, however, they've got the talent, but overall a crap side, and the fans here barely go to watch the matches. Recently they had a game vs. neighboring Oman (2-2) and there were more visitors than home fans!

Don't suppose that their dancing raises them above their masters;

I havent under-estimated Saudi Arabia at all. I've seen them play and i've seen their results in Asia and on the world stage. I personally dont think they can compete with Ghana. SA might be one of the better teams in Asian football but, on an international level, they havent impressed at all in recent years.

Ghana's squad for the Clash. aparently first team players in Israel..GK Adjei, wing backs Paintsil and Pappoe are not in the squad. Also conspicuously missing is Sulley Muntari of Udinese. in their place are some uncapped players.

George Owu (Ashgold), Philemon McCarthy (Feyenoord), Dan Quaye (Hearts), Issah Ahmed (Kotoko), Daniel Edusei (Greece), Francis Dickoh (Denmark), Abubakari Yakubu, Anthony Obodai and Mathew Amoah (Holland).

The rest are Alex Techie Mensah (Switzerland), Asamoah Gyan (Italy), Godwin Attram, Daniel Coleman (Saudi Arabia), Michael Essien (England) Laryea Kingston (Russia ), Joetex Frimpong (Nigeria), Stephen Appiah (Turkey) and Haminu Dramani (Serbia Montenegro). and Samuel Osei-Kuffour.

Has the Saudi Arabian squad list been released??

welll looks like Ghana vrs UAE will not come on so Ghana will play Saudi arabia on Monday at Jeddah.

Ghana will be missing some very important players>
pappoe and Paintsil(the wing backs based in Israel), Adjei(Goalie based in Israel), Essien(of Chelsea nursing injury) and Muntari(Udinese has Israeli Visa cos of a UEFA Cup game). However Ghana still has what it takes to win with the call up of Kuffour(roma),Obodai(sparta),Alex(st-Gallen Switzerland) and dickoh (Denmark).

FLASHBACK 1996

05/01/1996, Jeddah,
Friendly International

SAUDI ARABIA 1 (Khamis Al-Dosari 88')
GHANA 1 (Abedi "Pelé" Ayew 45' pen)
Referee: Abdul Rahman Al Zeid (Saudi Arabia).

Good Luck to BOTH sides

It finished 3-1 to Ghana. I'd say it was a good workout for both teams.

Hehe I watched the game on PC on saudi TV 2. wasn't that clear though. hehe u guys gave as an early scare with your goal. I think saudi provided Ghana with the sort of opposition that we wanted...typical arab type of football and it has prepared us for the African Nations cup and we will deal with the likes of Egypt,Tunisia,Morocco and Libya.

Good luck to Saudi Arabia and thanks for the game. photos?? links to goals??
Thanks

Oh FFS,

It's a friendly. That awful Saudi team that lost 8-0 against Germany comfortably beat Senegal and Uruguay in the run up to the 2002 World cup. Were those two teams weaker than Saudi?

Oh, and both sides experimented with their lineup. Saudi had more reuglar starters missing than Ghana.
