Kallon To Saudi Arabia ?

Kallon To Saudi Arabia?

7/28/2005 10:48:00 AM

Monaco's vice-president, Gerard Brianti has confirmed that the club had been approached by Al-Ittihad concerning Mohamed Kallon.

Didier Deschamps has warned that there would be no special status delivered this season. The Sierra-Leone international felt threatened by this claim and is looking for a new challenge. Despite an excellent start last year he failed to confirm and it seems that the striker has now many relationship difficulties with some players of his squad. The Saudi press announces that the striker will sign on Friday for 3 millions of euros.

thoughts ?

ًWell, he's a fantastic player. So if we get him, it would be great.

Well, when i see him in an Ittihad jersey, then i'll celebrate but it looks like a deal which is far from sealed.

Coming to Saudi would pretty much end his chances of re-joining a European side, so i don't know how willing Kallon himself would be.

A Tunisian official has said that Kallon will be a failed deal for Ittihad, since he has an injury in the right feet that keeps coming back to him, and Mansour AlBalwy has just announced on AllSports that Herrera will go to Monaco, and Kallon will come to Ittihad.

You hear that kind of thing everytime a Saudi club signs a foreign player. When it comes to hating, Arabs win awards. It's not like Kallon is another Woodgate.

Yeah, And I don't like how most commentators brag about Arab brotherhood and how whoever wins it won't affect the relationship of the two arab countries.

How often do you see a game between two arab teams pass by without ugly incidents?

Espicially North African teams (Mostly Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia), very physical.

What does Saudi Arabia have to offer?

Less security for himself and his family.
Cant think of an EU passport.
Language difficulty.
No future European football.

How well do they pay?

Bull in football? Or bull in general?

*Less security? Saudi may have it's problems, but it's still a heck of a lot more secure than most Western countries.
*Apparently that's not a priority for him.
*There's this new concept floating around, it consists of learning the local language.
*As i said previously, if he does accept to come then it will probably mean the end of any prospective career in Europe. But that doesn't mean he can't have a fulfilling and meaningful one here.

We pay well.

Yes, cadams, Saudi Arabia is still safer than many Western cities. The several bombings that took place earlier this year probably are the reason why you assume its not safe, but the crime rate in Saudi Arabia (I believe) is very low compared to many other places and its generally a very safe country to live in.

I'll surely keep an eye on Ittihad now, seeing as I always liked Kallon.

Nero & HiJazzey, please keep us informed about the dates of Ittihad's matches beforehand.

Best of luck!

btw, El Balawy (is this how it's pronounced?) needs to lose a few () pounds...

El Blowi(however it's spelled it ) must be laughing his ass off. He raised Yasser's price sky high after offering 46 million riyal and eventually made Hilal pay 20 miilion riyal for him and for the same price he gets Mohammed Kallon who IMO is a much better player!

Ofcourse we have the, will he adapt problems etc. but I don't see why he wouldn't.

Great signing by Itti...

EDIT - Ehh.. I just realised that it's only a 1-year deal! That's so damn expensive!

So Yasser el Qahtany is officially a Hilal player ?

He's good, but Kallon is obviously the better choice. He played for Monaco, Inter and a number of other Serie A clubs.

Yet 5 mill euro for a loan is a tad expensive I believe.

What's up with the astronomical figures in KSA ? :eekani:

We're considered the richest club in Egypt yet we wouldn't spend 5 mill euro on an entire squad , let alone one player.

Sure thing. He's going to join his new team mates on a training camp in Italy next week, where they'll play a few warmup games. I believe we'll be playing AC Milan and Lazio as well a few local teams.

BTW the name is al Blouwi (the B is saken). I don't think they like being called calamity (balawi) ! And you know, his size gives him presence
Cheers

Supposedly, although I'm not following that mexican soap opera closely.

Ego and face. It's all got personal, they have to win the deal no matter how high or ridiculous the stakes.

Yes KSA is the lowest crime rate in the world, and also Qatar is about the same rate.
