New CSA website

Is it just me, or does the newly redesigned Canadian Soccer Association website suck dogs?

It's a classic case of fixing what ain't broke. I used to have no trouble viewing the old site and navigating around it, finding info, etc.

Now they have "redesigned" it, using that god-forsaken ASP code that never works properly on Netscape. It takes forever to load and basically freezes up my Netscape browser. I can, however, load it with M*cr*s*ft's excuse for a browser, IE.

Several times in the last 2 days I haven't been able to load it with either browser. Netscape tells me "There was no response. The server could be down or is not responding." Internet Explorer gives me a "The page cannot be displayed" message.

When I do manage to load it in IE, they make it very difficult to bookmark particular pages on the site because the URL in the location window never changes as you move around the site.

I have a DSL line.

Anybody else having trouble with this site?

Why on earth would they design a site that can't be read by Netscape browsers? Are they in bed with Bill Gates? I smell a conspiracy...:fero:

"resistance is futile...you will be assimilated.. by Bill Gates".
Sorry, I don't buy that.

The experts agree Netscape is the best, and I'm sticking with it.

But this is not about Netscape. It's about the CSA site. I wonder how much money they spent "redesigning" their site?

Whatever it was, it would be better spent on soccer development.

Netscape

Netscape is severely behind the 8 ball. What version are you using?

Don't bother with 4.77 or anything below 6.2.

6.2 is the only version that's suitable for any browsing. Reality is that with only 5% of the browser market most web developers opted to develop for Explorer.

Time to face reality, Netscape is dead.

Used to love Netscape. The more I got into web development the more I got frustrated with the treatment of simple things (tables,...) by Netscape. Also N4.xx freezes on every imaginable page (PHP, ASP....) and.... Microsoft is s*** but IE is better in so many ways. N6.1 is an improvement in PHP, ASP,... but otherwise it still interprets code in a very peculiar manner.
The preceding was my way of venting frustration and the thread gave me an opening
The CSA site is ok but so was the previous look. I really like the menus the way they are now.
