Korea made it 1-0 early, but they put an own goal into their net! 1-1. 1 minute later DeRosario put it away 2-1

It is funny how every win or two is treated as a new beginning. I really can't get too excited about a team's potential after seeing some of the performances.
This is a quote from Jeff's link:
" Perhaps the biggest winner of the tournament is the Canadian coach. "
This is too funny. Finishing third in the gold cup is a victory for a coach.

Gold Cup

It was a good run for the boys. Finishing third when basically nobody gave them a chance is nothing to be ashamed of. Given the limited resources we have, and the problems of assembling a team together our boys did a great job!

Holger is indeed having the last laugh.

Now a good run at the upcoming qualifying for the WC is needed.

I initially wasn't too excited about the Gold Cup coming around mainly because we missed the World Cup and thought we were going to do poorly. However I was very pleased with Canada's performance. Many positives to take away from the tournament, no doubt about it.

Canada has to find a way to keep the momentum going into the WC qualifying campaign. Hope they've learned from some of the mistakes they made after their Gold Cup victory. History often repeats itself. What do you guys think went wrong for Canada after their victory over Columbia, both on and off the field?

Lack of creative players for one + Lack of mid-field possesion + Poor forward movement = no goals

Canada needs a natural forward who can score on a regular basis. You can't win if you don't score.... the best you can do is hold on for a draw.

BTW, Congrats to Canada! They may be tough to watch but, they did show effort and desire in every game they played in the Gold Cup.
