Canada wins Group D - the hard way!

Here's the story.

Canada caught another break when Martinique upset Trinidad 1-0 on Tuesday night. Canada will now face Martinique in the Quarterfinals.

If they play like they did tonight they would lose against the 13 year olds I coach.

The downside to facing Martinique, of course, is that we could actually lose.

That would push our FIFA ranking into triple digits and result in Osieck's resignation.

The upside is that if we beat Martinique we probably get to face USA next.

That's weird...Nevertheless good thing they qualified.
Where the hell is Martinique???
I have a feeling we'll get to the finals again.
THe only difference is last year we actually played well, Corrazin was fantastic. BTW where is he now?

The Canada-Martinique game will be shown on Sportsnet on Saturday, but Sportsnet hasn't decided when, apparently.

The best they can come up with is "check local listings".

Um, excuse me, but don't the people who make up the "local listings" get their information from Sportsnet?

The game is at 5:30 p.m. Eastern, but don't count on seeing it live.

Agreed, Sportsnet schedule is full of crap. I sometimes wonder why they even bother showing soccer, I mean, if they put in a half-ass effort on the Canadian NT, then maybe people who actually be aware of what is happening.

On the matter, I have no clue about Martinique. I don't know where it is, any of the players names, not even the native language, but sounds like possibly french. I hope Canada can improve there play because personally for me, they have been awful vs. Ecuador. The last 5 minutes where shameful. The thing that they STILL need is another striker. Radzinski will be back for WCQ, that is a given, but until then we need one guy who can finish 90-100% of the time on break aways.

Still Madridista and apparently I have no honor

Radzinski is not a given. I'd be surprised in fact if he does play in the World Cup qualifying.
