Not me, and nobody in Canada will unless they pay for it online on the web(which anybody could do), or if they have illegal satellite.

Canada announces rosters for upcoming friendlies
http://www.canadasoccer.com/eng/medi...?Press_ID=3187

Canada's men's national team has announced the roster for its upcoming preparatory matches against Brasil (Brazil) and Panama. The Canucks will be gathering in Seattle, WA this Sunday 25 May to begin training for the high-profile international friendly match with the Brasilians, the world's number-two ranked country. The Canucks will then head off to Fort Lauderdale, FL to play CONCACAF rivals Panama on 4 June.

"Our first game against Brasil will be a big occasion, but both matches will be invaluable in helping us to assess and prepare for our main focus, which is the qualifying process that begins next month against Saint Vincent and Grenadines," says head coach Dale Mitchell.

Canada's men's national team is currently preparing for Stage II of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers™ South Africa. Canada will be facing Saint Vincent & the Grenadines on 15 June (Kingston, VIN) and 20 June (Stade Saputo in Montréal, QC, CAN) in a two-match series. The winner advances to the CONCACAF semi-final round (Stage III) which runs from August-November 2008.

The Canadians have have faced the Brasilians three times, including most recently at the 2001 FIFA Confederations Cup in Ibaraki, Japan (a 0:0 draw). Canada qualified for the 2001 FIFA Confederations Cup by winning the 2000 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Canada's senior team has an all-time record of two draws and one loss against Brasil.

While the 4 June match will be the first international friendly between the two sides, Canada and Panama have faced each other four times in FIFA World Cup Qualifiers™ (1996 and 2000). Canada posted draws in both visits to Panama (both matches were 0:0), but won both games in Canada (3:1 win in Edmonton and 1:0 win in Winnipeg).

Age has nothing to do with it. Pat has always played great at the club level and not so hot for Canada (usually because he was put into a bad situation such as flying around the world at the last minute to start a game) That happened again at the GC with Sutton getting injured (concussion) and Pat came in.

He converted a lot of skeptics when he (and Richard Hastings) finally put it all together at the last Gold Cup and anchored an inexperienced defense to a pretty good tournament.

Pat will be a good guy to have for cover and I wouldn't put him out of the race for starter either.

As for defenders, the only player missing is KC Koln's Kevin McKenna who may have begged off after the grind to promotion to B1. He's never missed before so it is likely he'll be back for WCQ. Looks like Cann was called as last minute cover.

Jim Brennan/ Toronto FC
Adrian Cann/ Vancouver Whitecaps
Marcel de Jong/ Roda JC
André Hainault/Sparta Praha (on loan from FK SIAD Most)
Richard Hastings/ Inverness CT
Ante Jazic/ Los Angeles Galaxy
Mike Klukowski/ Club Brugge KV
Tam Nsaliwa/ AEK Athens FC
Adrian Serioux/ FC Dallas
Paul Stalteri/ Tottenham Hotspur

Why did Brazil take so many stars to face us?

They should have called their U-17 team.

I think you have the wrong forum, Brazil is playing Canada not Spain.

Canada qualified for the 2001 FIFA Confederations Cup by winning the 2000 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Canada's senior team has an all-time record of two draws and one loss against Brasil.

Evidently a history lesson is in order. Start your search with Eddy Berdusco and get the full story.

And since Brazil's U20 lost to Canada's U20 over a year ago the U17 comment is how shall I put it...STUPID!

I am Canadian.

And as far as the rest of your post goes, we'll wait to comment after the match.

Sorry, you couldn't tell from your avatar/info.

As for the history lesson, Canada usually plays well against top teams and seems to underachieve against similar or lower rated teams.

Brazil 1 - Canada 1
At Edmonton, Alberta, Canada produced one of its finest soccer results, tying the powerhouse Brazil, 1-1, on a goal by the substitute Eddy Berdusco in the 70th minute of a World Cup tuneup game.
(two weeks before the WC, IIRC).

Berdusco, who entered in the 62d minute, sent the crowd of 51,930 into a frenzy when he hammered a shot high into the left corner over Brazilian goalie Claudio Taffarel. The goal came after Romario scored in the 45th minute.

Hmm, wonder who won the World Cup that year?

From the way your posts read it seems like you'd be happy if Canada loses. Doesn't sound too Canadian to me.

I just don't support them that much. Not that I have any Canadian blood in me anyway, but that's not why. I just think that until the system changes in Canada you will have to be content with having good results against top teams and losing to teams ranked 200th.

The youth coaching is horrible here, and they don't encourage any kind of creativity in their style of play.

Kiyan, that comment about being content losing to teams ranked 200th is both off the mark and offensive. Players like De Rosario, de Guzman, Hutchinson, Bernier, etc... these are quality players. The nation is improving in footballing ability but need the proper push and encouragement from the CSA who have been nothing short of a nightmare. None the less, people continue to make progress and move forward. Our performances at the Gold Cup showed we would not be content losing to teams ranked 200th.

Yes, let's look at some of the players. For the first time we are starting to get some quality in numbers.

Julian De Guzmán - Deportivo La Coruña.com - Player of the Year
Rob Friend - Borussia Monchengladbach - Tied for 2nd in league scoring (17 goals)
Kevin McKenna - FC Köln - Captain of team
Tomasz Radzinski - Xanthi - Tied for 4th in league scoring (14 goals)
Atiba Hutchinson - FC Copenhagen - Midfielder, tied for 10th in league scoring (8 goals) likely to transfer to EPL
Dwayne De Rosario - MLS Cup MVP (2x) MLS Goal of the Year Award (2x)

And these are the old guard. The up and coming players are playing at a higher level, sooner, than the guys above.

There are those Euro poseurs who think we should just import coaches and everything will be fine. Doesn't work that way, we need made in Canada (for Canada) solutions.

We are now seeing players returning from Europe (who also have knowledge of the trials and tribulations of Concacaf) and offering their experience in the European wars to our youth.

Jason Bent, Nick Dasovic, Paul Peschisolido are all involved in coaching and Tomasz Radzinski has expressed an interest in returning and giving back. Look for Jason DeVos (Former Captain of Dundee United, Wigan and Ipswich Town) to get involved at the executive level.

Kiyan, if you don't have Canadian blood and you don't support the team, and don't seem to have any knowledge of the situation, why are you here at a Canadian forum trying to discourage those who do?

If gloating after the game will make you feel better, feel free, I'll still support the team, win, lose or draw.
