I'm not sure if I understand the situation correctly but Sheffield Wednesday are going up to the top division and the team Ian Hume is currently at is staying in the second division. If this assumption is correct I hope this deal goes through.

Thanks for the article.

1. Premiership
2. English Championship - Sheffield Wednesday
3. League One - Tranmere

Yes, the organization of the English football divisions is FUBAR.

League One is what we used to call the Third Division back in the 1980's.

And apparently Wednesday are still interested.

Yup, that's why you'll see a number in brackets following the league in the MOACA thus designating its level in the scheme of things.

Paul Stalteri - Tottenham (English Premier League) (1)
Jim Brennan - Norwich (English The Championship) (2)
Iain Hume - Tranmere (English League One) (3)
Simon Rayner - Lincoln City (English League Two) (4)

Sheffield Wednesday no longer interested in Hume.

Sheffield Wednesday has given up its pursuit of Canadian striker Iain Hume, saying it was unable to come to terms with the player.

"The fee was agreed (with Tranmere Rovers) but unfortunately, after several attempts to negotiate with the player's agent, we could not come to an agreement," Sheffield Wednesday chief executive Kaven Walker was quoted on the League Championship team's website.
