Euro 2004

Maybe we can generate some activity with this subject. were all Canadian but alot of us have allegiances to different Nations, Like San Siro and his French squad. So who is everyone pulling for?

Ill be on the side of the Italians, enjoy the league and the players. Hopefully Pirlo will get some minutes Im liking France to repeat though, they look strong and any team with henry and Zidane in it is a contender

Jeff: You can merge this thread with the one below if you want. its more about bars, places to watch, but similar still. I was aboutt o when is saw the other one, but remembered I dont have the power anymore

I'll be supporting England (on an account that the EPL got me into soccer), but I really hope Sweden goes far. Larsson and Ibrahimovic will rip it up!

Well my team didn't make it :depress:

But I'll be all for the Czechs. After them, Portugal.

Judging by my name it's not that hard to tell .

Anyhow, has anyone seen car flags in T.O yet? I haven't, weird.

Still Madridista and apparently I have no honor

So add the Dutch to my list with Italy, ill be cheering for both. Ppl are counting them out, and I have a weak spot for teams like that. Which is also why I have the soft spot for england. does any one outside of england think they can win besides Rooty? I actually am of the opinion that the Oranje can win, either Makaay or RVN could catch fire. Van der vaart will be key though, if he can play. Adds alot of creativity which should help either Makaay or RVN

Would love to see an unheralded side win.

The Swiss, Latvia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Denmark, Sweden, etc.....

Ill post this here because im to lazy to fetch the now disapeared Euro bar watching thread, but today I watched Spain-Russia all by myself in a coffee shop while sipping on a vanilla chiller!! Now thats atmosphere!! but hey, a town of 6000 thousand in the Okanagan valley doesnt produce many Football fans

About the game....

Spain was dominant for the first 20 mins and it felt like a goal was just a matter of time, bu then time dragged on and no goal was to be found. rather disapointing to see all the possesion turn into not a heck of alot. What can you say about Valeron though. Saez needs to find a place for him against the greeks.

A parting note: It was painfull to watch Raul this game. Its the first time ive seen him play this year, and I saw what Ive been reading around Xtratime all this season

I just got back from England and while there I bought a car window flag. Lots of cars there have two flags, one on each side of the car.

It's the St. George flag, of course, the one with the red cross on white background. They make them in Taiwan out of nylon, so they don't wear out in a week like the crappy ones they sell on the streets of Toronto (what is that fibre - rayon?). And the British Post office sells them for 99 pence.

After England's humiliation at the hands of the French, however, I don't think I'll be flying the flag much.

I am a Dutch Canuck (duh) therefore I am rooting for the Oranje.

I also will go out on a limb and predict that Germany will not make the knock-out stage of the competition.

2-1 to Holland on Tuesday

Being a Sigma Olomouc supporter the Czech Republic are always my second team (behind Canada). I am just happy that I will finally get a chance to see them play on TV again. It has been two years since I last saw them play live (in Olomouc vs Slovakia).

I'm from a town of 6,000 in Eastern Ontario. There is an English pub that is showing all of the games, but I am usually the only one there watching... at least the beer is good.

I like Serie A and Italy in general so that is where my support is. I also like the Czech's and Dutch to some extent.
