The Canadian team is supposed to be "assembling" today outside Hanover. I assume Osieck will wait to see who shows up before announcing his roster.

The Germans are without Dietmar Hamann, Christoph Metzelder, Christian Ziege, and Jens Lehmann.

Maybe that will be sufficient to keep the German scoreline in the single digits.

Don´t be so depressive Jeff!

But Ziege hasn´t played for ages, Lehmann will be equally replaced by Rost, Hamann ´wasn´on fire, Metzelder aswell, so theseplayers wouldn´t have made the difference...

I seriously do not expect such a big win for us...

Please post the canadian sqad if you know it!

A great accomplishment for Jordon! He was on fire last year in the A-League, and hasnt slowed down much.

Add Kevin McKenna to the squad list.

As for Pesch, I can't imagine why he's not there. We could use a veteran striker.

Friendly Report: Germany Beat Canada 4-1
Germany - Canada | Latest News | News Archive

06/01/2003. Germany warmed up for their Euro 2004 qualifier with Scotland on Saturday with a 4-1 friendly victory against Canada this evening.

Rudi Voller's side surprisingly fell behind after Canadian striker Kevin McKenna's 20th minute free kick hit the back of the net

Four minutes before half time Germany were back on level terms after Carsten Ramelow calmly converted a pass from Fredi Bobic.

The World Cup finalists made four changes at half time and Germany were a better team in the second half as a result.

One of the substitute's Paul Freier gave the home team the lead after 53 minutes and they had breathing space after Bobic converted eight minutes later.

Vfl Wolfsburg defender Tobias Rau sealed the win infront of his supporters with a fine striker in stoppage time.

dammnit Carson!

I thought they were showing the game live right now, I didn't know the game was over so now I know the score

I wont bother to watch the 2nd half then.

Dasovic is sh!t, i'm better than him. Deguzman and Stalteri are playing well.

De Guzman and Nsaliwa look like pretty promising youngsters. Both are quick and good at running at defences.

Our players(except McKenna) looked like dwarfs next to the Germans.

i finally decided to watch one of our friendlies just to get an idea of our quality...

I am very disappointed with our skill level....

We got lucky to score one...the only reason?? our best player De Guzman created the free kick...this kid has some nice skill and he does something that no other player did on our NT...move without the ball..yes he tried to dribble, but he also moved to openings which nobody else did..we have no movement whatsoever....and this is when we have the ball...it's one thing to sit back and absorb a second string Germany team and hope to break, but when we got our chances we had no creativity whatsoever...players could not make good passes and we weren't moving...if you watched Germany play, their players where always moving to openings...and i mean near the ball, not down the field which seemed to be the only thing we could do..Germany played nice give and go's....only De Guzman caused Germany any real problems...

i'm sorry to say, but our team has very little skill...we were lucky Germany didn't have Ballack, Klose and the others or it would have been quite worse...

too bad as I know that there are more skilled players in Canada than that...it's too bad that these kids aren't given the chance...

Canada just has no skill sadly.

Its pretty sad when a team drags the ball through your defence and they have 2 on 1's and the wide open net.

what a joke of a game ...

i think our team looked so lazy and tired during the second half ...

like how often do these players train???

twice a month ... i know better players that should be there ...

the A league is the worst league in the world ... CPSL is just as well if not worse ...

canada needs a real soccer league or either make players available to the MLS

Well, if there are bright sides that half our A team wasn't there basicallly. I think we would've been a completely different side with likes of Radz, De Rosario, Pesch etc//

Of course, i'm not talking about the game. We would've probably lost against their U-20 team with our A team.

But I mean in general, we are better.

i can appreciate that we did not have all our players, but neither did Germany...in the end the outcome would have been the same...the bottom line is we're a poor National Team...
