I thought I was the only one who sees a bit of potential in Bakayoko. Even compared to Biglia I don't see any area where Bakayoko is inferior apart from tactical awareness. That can hopefully be improved in time though especially in Italy.

Borini is shit, but that goal was all Laxalt. First he needlessly gave them the ball and then he easily let them cross.

Still the real problem is Gattuso who fails with many basics in setting up a team. Most of all the players dont even seem to know what he want from them.
I can't really remember which games it was, but in a couple of them, I remember thinking "now that's a real striker!" when Higuain scored. I'll see if I can find which ones it was.

Yeah, I was thinking of Borini marking C. Ronaldo only to let him go and hope that Zapata had eyes in the back of his head.

I'm thorn about Gattuso. Maybe the smartest thing would be to let him go now while we still can get a top 4 spot, but let see what he can do against Lazio.

Higuain has 5 goals in 10 Serie A games and 2 in 3 LE games. 7 in 13. Of that is little delivering ... my lord ...
Plus most of these goals were top WC striker. The one I saw live versus Atlanta in the beginning of the game was a no-Doubter for him but would have been a 20% chance for any of our strikers from the past 2/4 years. You have to also trust your eyes. The guy is world class.
Danna has been shaky for sure , but I can’t dismiss or doubt his immense potential at all.

I'm with bono and brick on this one, even I get angry at Higuain's attitude often too.

There's another factor. Higuain is a great an all around footballer and is pretty good at going a bit deeper to hold the play, pivot with his back to the goal, and all that... but he's never been asked as much as he has so far in this Milan. Not in River, not in Madrid, not in Napoli, not in Juve, and not in Argentina.

We're playing him like Zlatan basically, the guy is the playmaker and main finisher at the same time. He can do it, but he would be a lot better if his main job was just to chase through balls and crosses, and only occasionally do the other things. He is a killer world class finisher above all, who can also do other things, but not a prodigy like Zlatan or some other forwards who are either just insanely good at everything (like fat Ronaldo was, or maybe Suarez and very few others now) or physical beasts (like perhaps Dzeko or Lukaku these days, and even then...). I think his issues are another instance in which our midfield's incapacity to dominate the game, the lack of a real creative midfielder, and the poor form of the fullbacks and lack of a left winger make him look bad and frustrated.

Neither bring consistent box to box qualities, Pirlo like qualities, van Bommel like qualities, Gattuso like qualities and they are obviously not AMs. The 3-5-2 and 4-4-2 that we are playing a bit are not providing much coherent tactical shape yet may be it can be fixed over time.

I been saying this like a broken record.
This is due to accommodate a certain player rather than seeing it a a collective approach.
But I get told off that formation is just a formation.
