4m is still too much for Pirlo. It's not 2006 anymore.

Berlu should invest in a new stadium, that's all what is missing.

As for the marketing, I personally don't want Milan to become like ManU and RM ... marketing whores

160?!? Didn't Galliani manage to lower the wages from last season? Now it feels like they increased instead. In comparison Inter's got €145m, Juve €100M, Roma €76,5m, Napoli €41,2M and Lazio €50,2m. Such huge differences...

That's what I said (in other thread). I did a google image search and two years ago same number (same deal with taxes) was 125.5.

Flamini's and all the oldies' contracts are expiring.

It was really 125 a couple of years ago? I'm finding that hard to believe.

EDIT: Yeah it seems to be correct, Milan had 120m in wages 2009.... Despite getting rid of so many high earners and lowering Gattuso's, Ambro's, Pippo's and Nesta's wage it still has increased that much. Sick.

Here is last season's wages according to the Gazzetta:

Well there is something that isn't right here. I added all the wages on that 2011 list and got €73,5m in total and for the 2010 one I got €72m so the wages should have increased only for about €1.5m after taxes.

Here is what we got rid of:
Ronaldinho (7.5m), Pirlo (6.0m), Jakulovski (2.8m), Oddo (1.3m), Onyewu (1m) and Sokrates (1m) while Nesta got a 2m reduced salary, Seedorf 1m and Pippo 1.2m. Sum: €23.8m

While the new wages are:
Mexes (4m), Van Bommel (3.5m), Cassano (3m), Aquilani (2m), Emanuelson (2m), Taiwo (1.8m), Nocerino (1.5m) and El Shaarawy (0.5m) while Pato got an increased salary with 1.5m, Thiago likewise, Abate with 1m, Amelia 0.5m, Antonini 0.5m and Boateng 1.5m. Sum: €24.9m.

So how the hell did Gazzetta really calculate that the wage bill increased €30 in one year?!

Yeah, I'm wondering the same thing. It's got something to do with taxes I guess.

But still, the tax increase couldn't have been that large in just a year. And how come the other teams aren't affected by those taxes then? I mean after taxes the wage bill increased only €1.5m so how can the taxes make that into €30m?

Because we signed him on a free. The same happened with Mexes this summer.

There is an explanation in Gazzetta how they are calculated, but I don't speak the language that well, so we have to wait for Capo, Manuel or someone with decent italian skills to translate

Taxes is only explanation, especially since the sum at the top doesn't correspond with actual wages.

Inter have decreased their wages, Eto'o might have been 20M on his own.

Sad sight... Gattuso according to this earns more than Pirlo earns with Juventus.

Yeah there are some players with ridiculous high wages. Mexes, Flamini, Gattuso, Zambrotta and Ambrosini have too high wages for basically being backups this season.

But we have Flamini, Gattuso, Van Bommel, Zambrotta, Ambrosini, Seedorf, Nesta, Yepes, Inzaghi and I think Bonera in their last year of contract. That there is €27.8m in wages according to that list

No wonder Amauri "couldn't find a new club" since he earns 4m/year . That's almost as hilarious as some of our overpaid workhorses.

i dont know how many of you have knowledge and exxperience in how salaries are calculated in real liffe; from my rather limited yet direct experience, there are number of clear (able to be calculated) criterea, among which relevant experience and time spent with the organization are among the top. Now clearly in football age comes in as a negative factor much earlier than in other fields of life, but i have a feeling many of you disregard those two criterea.

in fact AGE is probably not a factor, ie it is illigal to take it into consideration. You can speak of fitness, etc but not of age as such i guess;
