The Swiss national team

This is how it ended in the qualifications:

1. Russia 10 7 2 1 18 - 5 23
-------------------------------------------------------
2. Slovenia 10 5 5 0 17 - 9 20
-------------------------------------------------------
3. Yugoslavia 10 5 4 1 22 - 8 19
4. Switzerland 10 4 2 4 18 - 12 14
5. Faroe_Islands 10 2 1 7 6 - 23 7
6. Luxembourg 10 0 0 10 4 - 28 0

Now the Swiss national team players and coaches are talking of building a "new" national team that will get stronger resukts in the next qualification and actually qualify for Euro 2004.

What do you think, and who should the Swiss hope to meet in the qualification?

I hope Switzerland will qualify for the euro 2004. That would have been great.

They will probably get a difficult group, but i think they have a good chance.

I also hope that Switzerland tries to get some of the next championships, that would have been so great.
FCSG, HAM KAM & ARSENAL 4 EVER!! :-)

Henchoz email ends Swiss exile

Bit late for hopin who Switzerland gets for EURO2004 qualifying , since they got
* Republic of Ireland
* Russia
* Georgia
* Albania

which as i said in another post, looks to be an even, but tough group, with Albania easily the strongest of the "minnows"

Anyway, i have some news on the NT, courtesy of the notoriously Unreliable Onefootball.com

You can read the article here

Well, this seems like good news for the NT. They are in a rebuilding phase, and use quite a few players from the Nationalliga, but any sane person knows that you need experience to build a team round. Hopefully this adds even more "steel" to the already solid Swiss defence :hopefull:
