You don't agree that the yonetim wouldn't have made this deal if they weren't reasonably confident in staying in the top flight?

Who knows maybe it's just a "We are going through this crap but we will still show everyone how we flex our muscles" move. Besides the fact that we desperately needed a forward. Not saying that I'm not happy about the transfer.

The yonetim have re-affirmed their stance that if they are guilty then relegate us. No more no less.

Fenerbahce gave the corruption investigation the benefit of the doubt in the last transfer window and was basically frozen from making any proper signings.

Now they could either do the same and watch the squad progressively get worse, or make a signing and signal their intent to still be involved in football this season.

If things go pear shaped, the club can sell Sow in 6 months for at least 50% of the initial investment and easily recover financially from it in the medium-long term.

Surprised that Senegal didn't win one game. They lost to Libya, Equatorial Guinea and Zambia. They were by far the favorites in the group. Good for us though as we get Sow and Dia back faster. As far as I know, neither picked up any injuries.

L'Equipe published an interview with Sow and how he damned Lille with these negotiations. Apparently he was forced to leave his team with the money that was offered by Fenerbahce.

"Before winter break, in my mind I was not set to leave. How did I react? Badly. I was surprised and disappointed.
