HBO vs. Starz vs. Showtime vs. Cinemax

Just cancelled my Netflix subscription since I always either forget to return the movies or go to their website and order a new one, so I end up watching one or maximum two movies a month for 12 bucks, which is not a good deal. Instead I decided to reinvest the some money into ordering a premium channel from my satellite service, but faced a dilemma and need an expert's advice to help me differentiate between the four packages[listed in the title].

I'll list the prices just in case:

HBO - $16.99
Starz, Showtime, Cinemax - all $12.99

i have Starz and can't remember if its cinemax or showtime for free for one year, but they suck they show the same movies over and over again might be because they are free.

Same when they put HBO for free they show same movies over and over. SO i just go to the redbox which is like 5 mins form home and rent a movie if i want to see one.

1) Internet piracy ftw!

2) If you want shows, then obviously go with HBO. If you want movies, then I don't know tbh. I have HBO, but only for the shows, and even saying that I'm going to cancel it soon because I'm just gonna download them off the net...

Shows are OK but I prefer movies. A reasonable combination of both is the best solution.

No piratebays or netflix, I don't have time for that. I just want a good variety of movies with a click of a button on my TV, whatever it costs.

So... starz is the best for movies?

I'm sorry, in what world does downloading a movie take any time? I mean if you've a crummy internet connection you should have a 2 hour film downloaded in 30 minutes. I fail to believe that your time is that valuable.

Netflix is sooo easy. I have that and HBO. I can't comment on Starz or Cinemax too much, but for me NOTHING tops HBO as far as TV goes. Nothing.

Whenever my connection got really bad, I needed like 6 hours to download a 2 hour film, lol. But yeah, Vinccent lives in the States, so internet connection shouldn't be a problem I supposed..
Oh le le, oh la la.. Ser del Barça es, el millor que hi ha!!

Exactly

We all steal stuff off the internet these days, so, ya know.... meh...

Plus, a lot of HBO's best shows aren't on anymore. They have fewer and fewer shows that I actually watch. And I watch NO movies on HBO. Not one, not two, ZERO.

I feel kinda ripped off when I'm paying however much a month I pay for HBO when I only watch it for one, maybe two hours a week...
