Opening Game: South Africa vs Iraq
Iraq have had shithouse preparations for this tournament, new coach or coaches ive lost track really, and players who are piss poor. fighting between the government and the FA, no friendly matches prepared, just awful really.
last tournament was the Gulf cup which was a disaster exiting from teh group stages. a poor world cup qualification campaign which saw them exit before the next round.
1st choice goalie noor sabri is in a world of his own. injuries to key defenders. poor players called up because the coach before this guy whos coaching now wanted to put his own mark on the team, hes iraqi. so some of those players were kept and that coach is either assistant or in administration with the FA now.
hopefully a draw.

His name is Booth, which they stretch into Boooooooth, whenever he touches the ball, I guess it's so he doesn't feel left out.
But c'mon Parker, got one shot in already!

Why does it sound like there is a massive swarm of wasps flying above the stadium?

yeah fvck thats annoying. or those small engine propeller type of planes.
speaking of awful, the game is pretty shit. south africa are not good at all, and malitunovic(spl) has iraq playing some convoluted formation thats never been done in football. its 3-4-3 but not really. hawar not starting is a shame. karrar is a retard, hes really not good enough and too much of a diving cheat to even be liked.

this is so boring right now, no tempo, slow build up and bad shooting.
Only the player no. 6 for South Africa shows some kind of excitment.

Bayern is a machine, yes. But Real Madrid and Barcelona live on a different planet to the rest of the football world.

Iraq sucked way more, hardly had any of the ball at all, but South africa despite having all of the ball, fail at basic off the ball movement or passing, to the point their attacking weapon is goalie kicking it to their attackers.

Well, the last 15 mins were not that bad, South Africa even had two chances to win it.
Wow, Parker as a last man defending for Iraq.

I hope no one is allowed to go in with horns in any of the other games, it was ANNOYING how they were constantly blowing those frigging horns

Welcome to South African football. You should be thankful, there are these little whistle-type things that are said to be 5x louder than the vuvuzela (horns), but mercifully they've been banned.
Anyway, I blame Santana for this. What kind of idiot starts with 3 DMs at home against Iraq? A half-fit Pienaar is miles better than Benson Mhlongo. Actually, a mortally wounded Pienaar would still be an upgrade.
