I agree with Moe, why should Newcastle be moral when teams like Oldham employ Lee Hughes and Roy Keane was idolised at United?

I'd have him back at City on a free. He'd count as a youth product after all.

What is happening with this club. They lost there two outstanding midfield players in Nolan and Barton. Plus they are not using the excess money from Caroll's transfer.

Never underestimate this regime's ability to do the inexplicable.

They got Cabaye and Tiote, both excellent players.

Barton was our best players last season, makes no sense to release him on a free. It's just going to f*** the confidence of the club. Relegation battle, here we come.

Barton to QPR, according to reports he is set for a medical. He told that in twitter since he is not given a contract he is considering QPR as his next club.

clearly stated he doesn`t want to leave.....Pardew doesn`t want him to either from today`s quotes....it`s the fat controller upstairs that holds the grudge.....
I would hardly call QPR a step up anyway. If I was JB, I would tough it out until the end of the contract ....as long as he gives his all then most NUFC fans would be very happy he sticks around....and if he continues last season`s excellent form then I`m sure a few other clubs better than QPR would come around.

it`s Mike Ashley/Llambias......they don`t want to give contracts longer than 1 year to players over 30 (seems to be the new policy).....JB will be almost 30 at the end of next season he`s probably looking for something more than a 1 deal which is fair enough.....but as said, both Pardew and JB would be content with sticking around till next summer when he can leave on a free.
Why let one of our best players leave on a free now and especially to a potential relegation rival (who knows).

did that policy of the management caused the departure of Nolan too?

yes, Nolan wanted a long contract and Ashley refused to give it to him.
IMO though, Nolan didn`t deserve the 5 year contract he was looking for. His goals were massive for us but actually he contributes very little outside the box and his legs are gone to be honest (definitely can`t play central midfield in the EPL anymore). Can`t fault his contribution to us getting promoted and his leadership on and off the pitch......I think 4m was ok business but the crap way the NUFC board went about getting rid of hm (as well as JB and co) was shocking but not unexpected by the goons upstairs.

Wouldn`t we all like to know? Almost 50 million in outgoings (Carroll, Enrique, Nolan, Xisco, Routledge etc).....and 2 cash signings to the tune of 7 million in (Cabaye and Obertan).....where is the other 43 million?
They have claimed that the "freebies" in Ba / Marveaux cost money in terms of signing on fees and agent fees.....and "invested in the training ground" etc....sure but I`m sure the wages of Nolan/Xisco and Enrique and now Barton who were on big wages offset that or evened that out? there must be a few pennies about to spend?
After the Caroll sale, it was clearly stated by the board that "all the money would be invested back into the club".
Ashley obviously wants to still sell this club and is trying to rape the club for as much money as he can until he manages to find a buyer.

****ING MIKE ASHLEY!! Barton always showed quality especially against big teams last season.
Caroll, Nolan, Enrique and now Barton, what a change.
now time to spend some money and get a left back and striker asap, and tbh I saw the names linked for the CF spot dunno why Pardew is obsessed with the french league now.

One time we played Cagliari and before the game I asked him: 'Do you know the name of the centre-back of Cagliari?' 'No'. 'No?! You are not a professional. You have to know the skills of the opponent. You have to know the name of the centre-back'. 'Mister', said Ronaldo, 'I don't know the name of the player I play against. But he knows me'!''
