Joey Barton transfer listed - told he can leave on a free

Barton has been jailed for 6 months today. I suppose he'll probably be let out early for good behaviour, so will be back some time around Octoberish. What does this mean for his career?

That is due to go before the courts at the end of June, so he might have another sentance to serve on top of the current one.

Do we sack him or do we keep him?

To be fair the club knew what he was like when we signed him and I'd like to think there's something written into his contract regarding what would happen if he went to jail. He's a horrible character, but I'm not really sure if we can afford to write him off as much as I'd like to.

It means that Pompey finished above Citeh in the 2008 season & won the cup!

I think this guy should be sacked, it's apauling behaviour for a professional athlete especially in a sport which the players are so idolised by the countrys youth. i think something would have been put into his contract seeing as a jail sentance could have been on the cards anyways with the dabo incident. If Sam allardyce and Shepard had anything at all about them they would have had a contract with Man city where by if the player goes to jail he his previous club will refund the clubs money or offer compensation to some degree

That is true BUT none of us know what happened with Dabo do we?

He could have said something that warrants a battering?

Da volim CRNO-BELE,
Ja ponosno kazem svima,
Ja volim to slavno ime,
I divim se samo njima.
Na svetu nista lepse,
Ne moze da postoji,
Nego sto je nasa ljubav,
Prema CRNO-BELOJ boji.

Ljubav prema klubu,
Ne moze da prestane,
Dok zivim klicacu njemu,
Volim te Partizane.

The footage has been released of the assault he's already been jailed for and going purely off that I'd sack him! I don't want a player like that representing Newcastle. He's also changed his plea to guilty for the Dabo case, he'll almost certainly get more jail time and rightly so, just hope the club take appropriate action.

Barton in talks with the club. I say we should invite him in, shoot him, drive him down to the Tyne, put him in a black plastic bag with some cement blocks, tie it up real nice, roll him in, and forget he ever existed
we're back!!!

It's a shame on your club that this animal is allowed to play on. If I were a newcastle fan, I would be ashamed and demand that he be released.
