Lucas Leiva

I love this player, 20 years old, he's the captain of the Brazil Sub-20 NT, best player of the Brasileirao 2006, he's a central midfielder, very complete, he reminds me Gerrard

I made a Video and wrote an article about him, but it's in italian and it would be great if someone can translate it cause my english sucks:

HERE THE VIDEO TO DIRECT VIEW AND DOWNLOAD

Enjoy!
Favorite players: Sergio Kun Agüero, Ricardo Quaresma, Mauro German Camoranesi, Pavel Nedved, Lucho Gonzalez, Fernando Belluschi, Diego Ribas da Cunha, Sebastian Giovinco, Miralem Pjanic

For Lucas I will read even in Chinese, but you did not say anything that we do not know

Thank you for the video, it is nice to see again some ofhis goals and play, when we miss him during his injury time .
I hope he does not come to Juventus, i understand that you need fresh blood for his position, but so need many other teams

I beleive that he will make the right decision for himself and will not go to a team who will put him on the bench

Apropo Gerrard, Lucas admires him, he said so in an interview when asked who is his roll-model, he said there are many and he intends to learn from everybody but Gerard is the first in the list
Well, I admit Gerrard is a good player, but what a character. Nothing to do with Lucas which has not the maldade and arrogance, in the negative sense, of the Englishman, thank the lord.

As a Milanisa I would not like to see my favorite player in Juve. It will make me a split personality and nobody wants that.

Let us just wait and see, now his priority is gett well soon amd play for gremio and the sub -20

When is he fit to play? I read 1 month out so I think he's back for the 2nd or 3rd round of Brasileirao

Do you think there is some possibility to see him in Copa America instead that in Canada to play the youth World Cup? I think is better him to play the Youth World Cup though

I could translate it, but my italian sucks and you wrote a lot!

Lucas is a CM like Gerrard, but more defensive. Gerrard is more complete, way more powerful. Lucas will improve but it will be very hard to match the english player.

Thanks for the video!

Do not bother Leone

This article is for Italians who do not know aboout him what we already know

Lucas has his own quality and saing that he will never be as good as Gerrard is not relevant

As to myself, I prefer the "new Falcao" and not the "Brazilian Gerrard"

Most Europeans that talked to me about Lucas had the impression that he is a defensive midfielder, and did not understand the function of second volante, until i gave them some examples. i do not want to repeat myself as we discussed it in the transfers and rumors thread and everything was said there, I recommend to Canalla and European members interested to understand about Lucas, to read it there

I do not agree with you, Leone, about Lucas being more defensive. he is very talented and inteligent and also gives everything of himself so he can do many things , but the thing he does best, in my humble opinion is his projection asisting the attack, and he is always better when he has a real volante de contencion berhind him
I have seen him in many games and have noticed the improvement of him after some suitable change was made (Nunes . Edmilson)

As to the video, i enjoyed it of course and thank you , Canalla, for your work

Fabio , i agree with you completely (Hand off the "Loiro"), the trouble is that the Gremio directors do not, as it seems

For you Canalla, in order that you understand better

This is the comentar after the sub-20 tournament' I saved it to my PC so I do not have the link ' but the writer counted Lucas under "centrocampistas ofensivos" and as defensivos he counted Vidal, Yacob etc/

her is the comment about Lucas

MEDIOS OFENSIVOS

LUCAS Pezzini Leiva

Very nicely said, I could not write it better

And do not ask me to translate it , I do not know all these nice words in English

well actually I said the same things in italian...maybe you didnt' read it...I made the comparison with Falcao in my article and I never said him is a defensive midfielder...I watched many matches Lucas playing...I think I know what kind of player he is...I watched so many brazilian and argentinian matches in my life...I understand very well the meaning of secondo volante, volante de contencion, volante tapon, volante ofensivo, volante de ida y vuelta, enganche, jugar de 5, jugar de 8, jugar con doble 5...

Here in Europe there are many teams playing with 4-4-2...so it isn't difficult to understand the meaning of secondo volante...in Brazil the most part of the teams play with 3-5-2...but Gremio plays normally with 4-4-2 so there is no problem...I still think the comparison with Gerrard can be made...Gerrard at the moment plays central midfielder in a 4-4-2 near a volante de contencion like Mascherano...or if I remind the Capello's Juve...playing in the centre with the couple Emerson-Vieira...well Lucas is more a Vieira than a Emerson

I mean, between Gerrard and Lucas, the later is more defensive. Vieira also is more defensive compared to Gerrard, that is the way I see.

All the 3 need a destroyer, a player to cover them.

Falcao, Cerezo, are not Defensive Middlefield in the sense of the word. They are what was called here "medio-volantes" and not "cabeça-de-areas", Those players are responsable for organizing the middlefield, not covering the defense like DMs should do.
However, people put all in the same pack this style of player and the DMs, because in europe, either you are a dm or a playmaker. They are just limited about football, what to do
Anyways, Lucas is not a DM in the Mauro Silva, Gilberto Silva, etc. sense, and I think he is not Gerrard like (perhaps spirit/leadership) player either.
Anyways, too soon to go to europe. They may turn him in a second striker there...

It would been better for him to stay longer in Gremio

Unfortunately, in Gremio they had decided to sell him to balance their budget

he has an important mission now, beside his comittment for gremio

The sub-20 mundial. I believe that i am not the only one who want to see him lifting this Cup as he did in the Sul-Americano in Paraguay

I suppose that Dunga will not take him to the Copa America because all of a sudden all the big fat craques qant to come, but he derams of the Olympiada in Beigin, which he deserves to go, he was one of the men that secured this place for brazil

So, I hope Gremio find some Parceira which will wnable them to keep him a little bit longer

The torcida will be delighted

And this, is already confirmed?

Fabio meu filho, it is true, infelizmente

The rumores began to circulate in PA when he did not sow up in the game (Normally he would have been on the archibancada as he was in the Joventude game) His fans ' mostly the teen age girls who are in love with him as teen agers can, began to ask all ove the flogao what is happening with their loiro. One of them even called some director in gremio but they lied . His father also denied

But bad news travel fast and i had the unpleasant duty to right it in my forum, in my blog and other places, not before i checked it up . hoping it is just a rumore

Pleas read all the news in the transfers thread

I quoted the information, you can see it all there (not my tears which nobody will see)
At least he will come ack to play the libertadores and some brazlierao

What about the sub-20? is brazil going to lose hte captain?

To see our guri de luz in red will be a nightmare come true. I am still trying to digest it. I hope something comes on to ruin this business

Is this almost a done deal or something? There haven't been any rumours about Lucas to Liverpool at all in England.

Does he have an EU passport?
If I quote your post it means the dog is judging you.
