Their coach/manager put them in a bad situation, but again ...
... OFFICIATED OUT OF ANOTHER TOURNAMENT.
There is no way Brazil is 4 goals better than US(A), but playing 2 goals down, and a woman down for 50 minutes, was bound to yield that result.
This is not to say that the better team didn't win, but Brazil is in NO WAY 4 goals better that US(A), IMHO.

I have to say I agree ...
The first 3 goals were stopable, IMHO, by a GK in form, even the own goal.
A GK comanding HER area would have called off the defender and got that ball. The 2nd & 3rd goals were shamefull; as was the Swiss refs decision to expell Boxx.
That said, I don't think Brazil could have been stopped. They played as though they wanted it more that OUR ladies. That said, I STILL say that Brazil is "IN NO WAY 4 GOALS BETTER THAT OUR LADIES". Though the results speak for themselves, the coach further unsetteling an already unsettled team as well as the expulsion of Boxx doomed this TEAM.
I am also a bit taken aback by Solo's reaction. WE all agree, except for the manager, that the decision to sit her was WRONG, but raising cane after the fact is "not professional", IMHO. As a result, I would also sit her for the 3rd place match ... JMHO.

Thank god, they lost. I was nervous they were going to win and then America would have to pretend we care about women's soccer again!

Associated Press
AUSGBURG, Germany (AP) - Abby Wambach scored for United States to beat world and European champion Germany 1-0 in Thursday's friendly.
Wambach scored for the Olympic gold medalists in the 34th minute after capitalizing on a defensive mistake by the Germans.
Germany had earlier wasted a half-dozen clear opportunities and dominated most of the match without breaching the U.S. defense.
Germany is the host of the 2011 World Cup. The match was played before a capacity crowd of 28,367 in the new Impuls Arena.

CONCACAF U-20 CHAMPS
U.S. women nip Mexico on 11th-hour goal
GUATEMALA City, Guatemala -- Sydney Leroux scored in the 86th minute to break a scoreless tie and lift the United States to a 1-0 victory over Mexico and to the CONCACAF Under-20 Women's Championship on Saturday.
It was Leroux's tournament-high sixth goal.
The Americans Thursday qualified for the Women's U-20 World Cup in Germany by edging Costa Rica, 2-1, in the confederation semifinals. The WWC will be played in July.
Defender Crystal Dunn (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) started for the U.S. Dunn played the full 90 minutes while defender Vicki DiMartino (Massapequa, N.Y.) came on for Kendall Johnson in the 56th minute.
Both teams had already qualified for the WWC by virtue of semifinal victories two days ago, but pride and a CONCACAF regional title were more than enough motivation to spur both countries
