The same Viola who achieved the astonishing feat of getting dismissed from the squad for "technical insufficiency" three times in the same League, when he was playing for Guarani last year – in the campaign that led to their relegation.

Guarani had several coaches during the 2004 competition, and the same process was repeated over and over by each new coach: the new coach would arrive and see that the squad was very weak, and that the prestigious Viola had been dismissed; and then he'd immediately call back the striker to strenghten the team. After a while the new coach would realize that Viola was overweight, overpaid and useless, and the striker was dismissed again (!!!). Shortly afterwards that coach would get fired because of bad results and a NEW coach would step in, repeating the mind-numbing process of "discover the team was weak-call Viola back as a reinforcement-discover that Viola is not the same anymore-dismiss Viola because he was creating problems".

It's not everyday that you see a player with Viola's history getting sacked three times in the same competition, but he did it.

And he'll be forming Bahia's strikeforce with Dill, the Amazing Forward Who Doesn't Score (whose last 2 clubs were Botafogo and Flamengo, and adding everything he didn't score five goals in the past two YEARS).

That attacking duo isn't lethal, it's lethargic.

For me Viola was leading scorer, he was the only striker I had who could actually score after I reluctantly sold Gil to Dortmund. I was so bad as Corinthians

but I've been mega as Santos.

Hey, "way back when" Viola was a very good striker. Today he's just embarassing himself... but if Romario doesn't mind doing it, why should he?

n who is the fabio pinto that sao caetano signed? his name sounds really familiar but i cant match it with anybody...

n ibson signed wit porto, he was supposed to stay on loan wit mengo for the 1st semester but of course they managed to mess it up, n hes already a porto player...

julio cesar leal has already been fired as the mengo coach after 6 games (4 losses, 2 wins!!!), n cuca has been announced as the new coach... really dont know what to expect, i knew we didnt have a championship team but didnt think we were this bad!

n btw is it just me or are shaktar buildin a really good team? jadson, elano... those were 2 of the best players in last years brasileirao... hope they dont disappear from the radar...

No, Roberto played for Sao Caetano. I have vague memories about him, I think he started with Botafogo-SP, but not sure.
Fabio Pinto played for a few clubs, I think his origem is Rio de Janeiro. Not sure however, sorry

Elano just screwed up his chance to go to the next WC...
