Sweden's EURO 2004 Squad - You Pick.

Not that long left till the Swedish EURO 2004 squad is to be revealed.
So if you were the National Team boss which 23 players would you pick? (plus 4 reserves)

I start with myself:

_______

Sweden's National EURO 2004 team
_______

Goalkeepers:
1.Andreas Isaksson
2.Magnus Kihlstedt
3.Magnus Hedman

Defenders:
4.Erik Edman
5.Teddy Lucic
6.Patrik Andersson
7.Olof Mellberg
8.Michael Svensson
9.Andreas Jakobsson
10.Alexander Östlund
11.Christoffer Andersson

Midfielders:
12.Fredrik Ljungberg
13.Christian Wilhelmsson
14.Kim Källström
15.Anders Svensson
16.Tobias Grahn
17.Andreas Johansson
18.Anders Andersson
19.Tobias Linderoth

Attackers:
20.Niklas Skoog
21.Zlatan Ibrahimovic
22.Marcus Allbäck
23.Matthias Svensson

Reserves at home,
GK: Rami Shaaban
Defender: Johan Mjällby
Midfielder: Mikael Nilsson
Attacker: Johan Elmander
_______

(with this squad I have decided to leave Henrik Larsson out, I would love to see him in Euro 2004 but I just don't see it coming. If he opens the door anyway Niklas Skoog will be replaced by him in my team )

What do you think about my team and which players would you pick yourself?

"One time a guy handed me a picture of himself and he said. "Here's a picture of me when I was younger." Every picture of you is of when you were younger. Here's a picture of me when I'm older. How'd you pull that off? Let me see that camera."

I like your squad, but is unsure about the strikers... and I would take out Linderoth and reaplace him with *anyone*, with you Wakky if I could.
In the end only memories remain.

No wait, sorry Wakky, I did not mean to insult you by comparing you with Linderoth.
In the end only memories remain.

How on earth has Anders Anderson ever deserved a chance? He was completely useless against england ruining every attack with his poor passing and pointless shooting. I dont know what he ever done to even earn a move to Benfica cuse he was nothing special in allsvenskan

I dont understund why Pontus Farnerud isnt selected. He hasnt really been given a proper chance to shine in the nt surrounded with the likes of Andreas Andersson, Linderoth, Anders Anderson etc

Out of him Källström and Zlatan he was the one who by far impressed the most when they were fresh and new...
PLay him with the likes of Källström, Zlatan and he will look good, he did so in the past.

To be honest I totaly forgot about Pontus Farnerud but I did however consider for a long time if I really should pick Anders Andersson...
And I more or less only picked him because he's a good team player that will be glad with sitting on the bench all the time and on the teams sparetime show his team-mates around in Portugal

You dislike him that much huh?
Im more of an attacker though but I'll be glad to get a free ticket to Portugal!

No seriously I figured we needed some "real" defensive midfielder in the team and we don't have that many...
Linderoth is the one with most class in my eyes...
Johan Arneng is one who's upcoming though...
Farnerud(now when I still remember him) might be able to pull it off aswell...
Anyway, I want Källström in the defensive midfielder position but I did wan't some with even more defensive skills to be able to jump in if needed so there you go...

About my strikers...We don't have that many but Zlatan is the obvious choice.
And my second pick is Matthias Svensson who I simply adore(well...almost atleast ). I have fighted for him to get a National Team place the past 3-4 years as I think he got exactly what we lack, good heading skills, strenght and determination...A modern version of Kennet Andersson if you like.
And with him at the moment in the form of his life with Norwich(who just got promoted to the Premiership alot thanks to Matthias Svensson 7 goals since he arrived to their side this winter). he would be superb in the Swedish team.

Ohh man, I just realised I have forgot about Mattias Jonsson...oops...

Hmm, maybe he should have the place instead of Marcus Allbäck?
Allbäck is a goal-scorer however and with the lack of other good attackers I couldn't leave him out.

Niklas Skoog is a good player though but he's a bit slow and that speaks against him(and instead speaks for Mattias Jonsson ).

I like Andreas Andersson alot and he would have been given a spot if he wasn't injured.

What other strikers do we have really?
Jörgen Pettersson,Yksel Osmanovski,Stefan Selakovic,Johan Elmander...

Out of them Selakovic is the only one that really deserves a place...

(also...I was thinking as this:"if the four strikers that I have listed would get injured or anything we could allways have Tobias Grahn,Christan Wilhelmsson or Freddie Ljungberg up front...)

Andreas Andersson rocks socks! In the world cup he and Zlatan were our best strikers, no doubt.

I think Andreas Andersson is an awesome player and he's suberb one on one and always come's with alot of pace...for me, he's an obvious choice in the National Team when he's healthy.
Unfourtnately it's not guarenteed he will ever get well again if we should believe the latest updates on his injury...
