People. I do not like our current mentality in the National Side where the player who has played the most National Caps appears to automatically be the Captain. This is stupid. A Captain has to have leadership qualities and be respected as a player. He also basically needs to be guaranteed a position in the team on a virtual full time basis. Bearing the future in mind as I believe we are in positive rebuilding phase I would opt for Stankovic or Vidic. Agree or disagree??? Suggestions.

Agreed, aspects like leadership, influence on and off the pitch, determination and the ability to coach others should be looked at when selecting a captain. Now usually players don't get to that level till their late 20's but there are exceptions, just look at Piksi.
Although I like Savo I believe we should select a captain who'll be a regular no matter what and considering the fact Petkovic wants to put a younger team out there, Vidic and Stankovic are valid options.

I prefer Vidic out of this group. Not convinced with Stankovic. Other possibility based on what I saw in the few games since Petkovic took over is Vukic.
Vidic is a great guy but for some reason I think a midfielder should be captain...I think it's best when the positions of playmaker and captain go together, dunno if we have such a player though.
As a player I admire the talents of Vukic. He is quite exceptional. However has he any experince in regards to captaincy. Was he the captain of Partizan last year??

Well, Vukic often played instead of Ilic rather than with Ilic so while Ilic was the official captain always, when he wasn't playing I think it was Vukic who was wearing the captain's band. Could be wrong though.
Moj izbor pada na dvojcu fudbalera: Nemanju Vidica i Savu Milosevica. Prvi je kapiten, i to izuzetno dobar kapiten, Zvezdinog tima. Od Bunjevcevica, Zvezda nije imala boljeg kapitena. Vidic ima urodjene sposobnosti vodje i komandanat. Zreo je za svoje godine, vise od vecine svojih vrsnjaka, da ne pominjemo da je daleko zreliji nego neke "stare kuke". Noge su mu na zemlji, glava na ramenu, populranost podnosi vrlo dobro, sa dozom humora i bez uobrazenosti. Povrh svega, Vidic je izuzetno talentovan i dobar igrac, odgovoran i pozrtvovan.
Savo, mada nikada u vrhu moje liste omiljenih igraca, uvek je bio omiljen kao licnost. Izuzetno dobar, cestit momak, koji govori ono sto misli a da pri tom ne povredi druge. Inteligentan i zainteresovan za zbivanja koja nisu samo vezana za fudbal. Slava mu nije udarila u glavu a smisao za humor mu je odlican - pravi bosanski. Na terenu ne pravi razliku izmedju starijih i mladjih, mada po stazu i reputaciji moze da ima vodonose. Popularan medju igracima a njegova rec se slusa. Vrlo dobar igrac, koji nikada ne pravi pitanje da li u igru ulazi sa klupe ili se nalazi medju pocetnom 11-storicom.
Zao mi je sto Bunjevceviceva karijera ne ide kako treba, jer bih njega najradije video kao kapitena.
Deakija Stankovica, Vukica, D. Kovacevica ili P. Djordjevica ne mogu da zamislim kao kapitene. Ili je u pitanju nedostatak samopouzdanja (DS), ili preterano jak ego (DK i PDj). Vukica ne znam, ali taj momak nikada nije imao ulogu kapitena ni u jednom timu u kome je igrao nit se do sada nametao kao vodja.
Mare, godine ne znace mnogo. Na jednoj strani imas mladog Vidica koji je izuzetno zreo, a na drugoj "iskusnog" Mihu koji nije u stanju da kontrolise svoje emocije, bez obzira da li ce zbog toga njegov tim ili on sam da snose konsekvence.
If Vidic wasn't so injury prone, I'd have him up there among the candidates. However, since he is like a human bandage though, and has missed many of our last nt matches, I wouldn't exactly give him the captaincy. My main candidate would be Krstajic. Proven winner, experienced player, that everyone loves and respects. Don't see what else you would want in a captain.

Ben, that is a good point about Vidic's age and than comparing to Mihajlovic and his age, but the thing is, the kid just got on the team basically, so I think it's realistic not to choose him as a candidate just yet because I don't see him getting that arm-band or even being a candidate to be honest.
P. Djordjevic wouldn't be bad either, but this guy isn't really guaranteed a spot in the first team, so, who knows.
I think Savo will continue wearing the captain's arm-band until he retires from the NT whether we like it or not.
Krstajic, an interesting proposition, firstly how old is he and when fit is he always an automatic selection?? I love Vidic but I have to admit he is injury prone, a little like a tampon in for one week and out for 3.
