Might as well combine this with the new players in England thread this year tbh.

Kevin De Bruyne (Chelsea/Belgium - 20 years old (21 at new season start))

Interesting young player from the little I've seen of him and another Belgian supertalent. Whether he will make an instant impact is debateable, I suspect he might well be loaned out next season as Chelsea look to build their Belgian contingent of him, Lukaku and Courtois for the future. Chelsea have been a bit of a graveyard for young signings in recent years and only really Mikel and Sturridge of players signed at a really young age have managed to break into the first team set-up on a regular basis, so time will tell.

Brett Holman (Aston Villa/Australia - 28 years old)

This kind of strikes me as the kind of singing a team makes just because they are on a Bosman. Okay player but not likely to make much of a difference I wouldn't have thought. Might work as a rotation player but I wouldn't think he's good enough to start in a team with any ambition.

Marko Marin (Chelsea/Germany - 23 years old)

I've always thought Marin is a fantastic talent. When he first burst onto the scene and then during his inital time with Bremen he reminded me of Arjen Robben. However since then he's gone off the boil considerably. If he can recapture his form then he has the potential to be a very shrewd signing, if he plays like he has been lately he will disappear without trace. Hopefully it's the first one because he's the type of winger I really love to watch. Playing time will depend on whether they are thinking of him as a replacement for Kalou or Malouda.

Lukas Podolski (Arsenal/Germany - 26 years old (27 at new season start))

Depends which Podolski turns up really. If it's the Podolski that choked at Bayern then this is a terrible signing, if it's the Podolski of major international tournaments then it's a spectacular signing. I have a feeling that in England he will be the latter and that this will be one of the best singings of the summer.

Regarding loans, I think most will be binned off at the end of the season, so I've added them already.

Gyan I think unfortunately will choose to stay in the Gulf. It's sad that a player at the peak of his career already earning something like £50k a week would choose a bit more money over playing competitive football, but there we go. If he'd stayed and played the way he was playing he'd have got a move to a big team eventually, reminds me of Dindane but on a greater scale.

Not sure if Bendtner will stay at Sunderland. I dunno if they'd pay the wages he thinks he's worth. I think he's a good fit for them in terms of ability versus the quality of the team Sunderland are, but he thinks he's a future ballon d'or winner.

Pienaar I think will stay at Everton, assuming they can agree a fee with Spurs, I reckon £3mil will do it and Moyes knows how to get the best out of him. I think they'll get rid of Denis as he's only scored 1 goal, even if he is hardworking. Drenthe I would have expected to stay but he seems to have fallen out with Moyes so I doubt he'll stay now. I believe he's a free agent in the summer and would think a few mid table teams will be interested in signing him up so I would imagine he'll be a premiership player next season somewhere anyway.

Miyachi I would guess goes back to Arsenal, though personally if Bolton survive I think another season there would help. Ditto McEachran at Swansea. I think Chelsea will re-loan Courtois to Atletico and loan Davila and Van Aarnholt back to Vitesse. Kakuta has done well with Dijon and might get another shot, Bruma I think will be loaned to a premiership team this time. Delac doesn't look like doing anything, maybe league one loan to get used to English football, Kalas will be loaned to a championship side I think, looks like he might have potential.

I sort of wish he had continued his development and progression as a player in Holland, even at a different club from Feyenoord. I mean, he hadn't even played a full season in the Eredivisie, and while he had some great matches, I know some Feyenoord fans realized he still had a lot to learn. People talk about how great the Dutch league is at developing youth prospects.

He's still not far out of high school footy and it's difficult for him as he's been shifted around from club, to club, to club - he can't settle. Now he's already in the league some people call the toughest and this after a brief stint in Holland - Kagawa is further developed as a player and can take the challenge, but I fear Ryo's development will stagnate due to the path that he's taken.

#10 ·
Also what do you reckon teams need to do?

Arsenal I think need to make moves earlier in the summer. Podolski is a good start. Last summer they ended up panic buying and buying 4 players in the last 2 days of the window. Only Arteta has worked out really, though I guess Metersacker has been okay. Santos and Park have been a total waste of time though.

They're being heavily rumoured with M'Vila and Verthongen, both of whom would be good singings. Those two and Podolski would actually make a pretty decent summer. Have heard Javi Martinez rumours, though I would presume he would be instead of one of the other two.

They could really do with getting the wages down I think and trying to offload Denilson, Bendtner, Arshavin, Diaby, Park, Chamakh, Djourou as they earn more than they are worth. Arshavin I think will be easy to get rid of to Russia, but it might take a while to get rid of the rest.

Keeping Van Persie will be the battle but it's vital they do so. Some younger players will make more of an impact next season, Chamberlain in particular.

#11 ·
Chelsea I would think will have a bit of an overhaul even if they win the league. I suspect this summer is the end of Drogba, Malouda, Kalou, Ferreira and Bosingwa, which leaves space in the squad to fill. Lukaku will be loaned out for experience I would guess, probably the kids already on loan will be going back out on loan again. They also sold Anelka without doing a great deal to replace him.

Marin is quite an interesting signing but won't be one of the main ones. No idea who they'll go after at this point and I would expect them to be linked with just about everyone.

#12 ·
Liverpool need more in the middle. Rasmus Elm is heavily linked and would be a good singing. They need another option upfront of good quality. They need to make sure they keep hold of Suarez. I'd say they need good wingers but I say that every summer and they always buy average ones so w/e.

Man City I'm not really sure about, they're strong in all areas so any signings they make would have to be world class players. Tevez now wants to stay because he's an oddball.

Man U need good players in the middle of the park and I would imagine they will get a couple of Kagawa, Sneijder, Modric type players. Berbatov and Owen will be off, dunno whether they'll replace them or just promote.

Spurs just need to make sure they try and keep Modric and Bale and get a striker. Imo they need to decide quickly on the Modric and Bale situation and if it's looking unlikley they'll keep them, sell up in plenty of time to get replacements.

Rumours today..

Dirk Kuyt interesting Hamburg according to a direct quote from someone there and also Feyenoord want him back. I think he's been a decent servant to Liverpool but now is probably a good time to go.

Luuk De Jong's agent trying to hurry Liverpool into a bid, guy seems to have scored a lot of goals, like Bas Dost, would be interesting arrivals to the league.

Eden Hazard off to Man City according to a paper, but stuff will be rumbling about him all summer.

Nacer Chadli to Fulham, just because all the incoming rumours today have to be all about Belgians or Twente players, we may as well have a Belgian that plays for Twente.

Oh and for a non Belgian, non Twente player, Jay Rodriguez is apparently interesting Everton.

#15 ·
Luuk de Jong and Bas Dost are also interesting German clubs.

Will be interesting to see how Bundesliga clubs will do with their improved finances vs the midtable premiership clubs.

Dost has said that he'd prefer to move to Germany.

De Jong hasn't really stated a preference.

#16 ·
The way things normally work is that there's about 30 names who are linked to premiership clubs at the start of the summer and about 5 actually end up joining them, this summer it's..

1. Eden Hazard (Man City, Man U, Arsenal, Spurs)
2. Hulk (Man City, Chelsea,Spurs)
3. Rasmus Elm (Liverpool)
4. Luuk De Jong (Liverpool, Everton, Newcastle)
5. Nacer Chadli (Fulham)
6. Bas Dost (Aston Villa, Everton)
7. Fernando Llorente (Spurs, Man City)
8. Jan Verthongen (Arsenal, Spurs, Newcastle)
9. Douglas (Newcastle, Fulham, Aston Villa)
10. Olivier Giroud (Arsenal, Newcastle, Aston Villa)
11. Younes Belhanda (Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle)
12. Shinji Kagawa (Man Utd, Chelsea)
13. Nicolas Gaetan (Man City, Man Utd)
14. Edinson Cavani (Man City, Chelsea, Spurs)
15. Hugo Lloris (Spurs)
16. Wesley Sneijder (Man Utd, Man City)
17. Yann M'Villa (Arsenal, Man City)
18. Javi Martinez (Arsenal, Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool)
19. Oscar De Marcos (Man Utd)
20. Willian (Chelsea)
21. Lucas Barrios (Fulham)
22. Aly Ciossokho (Newcastle)
23. Lucas Moura (Man Utd, Chelsea)
24. Gaston Ramirez (Liverpool)
25. Stevan Jovetic (Man City, Liverpool, Man Utd, Spurs)
26. Erik Pieters (Newcastle)
27. Mauricio Isla (Arsenal)
28. Milos Krasic (Spurs)
29. Jordi Alba (Man City, Man Utd)
30. Mattias Suarez (Arsenal, Everton)
31. Gonzalo Higuain (Man City, Chelsea)

We will see which 5 end up here.

#17 ·
Douglas to Villa and Chadli to Fulham look like certainties

Who is Gaston Ramirez?

#21 ·
Today according to the papers...

Jan Verthongen is set to sign for Spurs according to a few papers, beating out Arsenal and Man City to his signature. We will see, if they don't make the CL not sure this will come up.

Rasmus Elm is now wanted by Newcastle as well as Liverpool.

Matt Jarvis to Southampton is a rumour, heard Everton might be interested in him this week also. Would imagine him, Doyle and O'Hara would be the Wolves players everyone comes after.

Lavezzi apparently ready to leave Napoli with Chelsea and Man City interested (As they supposedly are in everyone)

Mickey Owen perhaps off to China to play for Anelka (lol)

ol)
Maybe Knightly too

Strange really that Doyle's been benched a lot this season. Would think that him and Fletcher would have paired up well.

#24 ·
Some rumors

David Luiz (Chelsea) -> FC Barcelona
Seydou Keita (Barcelona) -> Liverpool & AC Milan
Ezequiel 'el pocho' Lavezzi (Napoli) -> Chelsea & Man City
Marvin Martin (Sochaux) -> Arsenal (if they miss out on Hazard which look like they will)
Matt Jarvis (Wolves) -> Southampton
Georginio Wijnaldum (PSV) -> Tottenham
Bas Dost (Herenveen) -> Arsenal

#25 ·
Today..

Gareth Bale rumours have started, supposedly Man City are going to bid £40m, though I feel it'd take more than that.

Real Madrid supposedly after Alex Song.

Liverpool chasing Clint Dempsey

Southampton want Mark Davies.

Jacob Butterfield being linked with Newcastle and Reading.

Everton are interested in Bas Dost.

Fulham had a bid rejected for Sigurdsson on a permanent.

Andre Santos back to Brazil with Botafogo.

Arsenal and Spurs duelling over Hazard, Verthongen and Hoilett.

#26 ·
Today in rumourville.

There are direct quotes from Verthongen saying he pretty much wants to join Spurs and that Van Der Vaart has talked him into it.

Heerenveen have allowed Luciano Narsingh and Oussama Assaidi (both wingers) to have a tour of Fulham's training ground as the clubs negotiate.

Maxi Rodriguez apparently set to leave Liverpool.

Arsenal confident of signing M'Vila if they manage to secure CL qualification.

Liverpool interested in Cristian Tello.

QPR after Victor Moses for £7m.

Heskey set to leave Villa in the summer.

Man City interested in Belhanda if they miss out on Hazard.

Newcastle interested in Boilsen.

Real have apparently looked at Papiss Cisse.
