Regarding the final table, topscorers list and other statistics I posted above, then it's worth noticing that last season broke several Superliga records...

First of all, it has never happened before in the history of the Superliga that two promoted teams both finish in top-4, as Randers and Esbjerg did... Obviously this has to do with the financial crisis and the fact that the Superliga clubs have been using more homegrown talent.

.. which brings me to the average age on the topscorer list... Not only was Andreas Cornelius the youngest topscorer ever in the history of the Superliga, but the average age among the top-5 on the list was also by far the youngest ever.

Back in 1991 when the last record was set, the average age of the top-5 topscorers was 24 years and 40 days, but considering that all from the top-5 this season were below 24 years of age, this record was soundly beaten, so that it is now 22 years and 80 days.

Because of the financial crisis, last season became one big showcase for new young Danish talent, who have been getting an opportunity to impress and become key players for their teams, which is also why we now see that they are getting pick up by the bigger leagues ... So when you look at the topscorer list, Cornelius, Helenius and Aron Jóhannsson are already gone, while Brøndby have been negotiating with a French club about the sale of Simon Makienok.

As you can see by looking at the league table, it has so far been turned upside down in compare with last season, regarding the campions FC København and Silver medalists FC Nordsjælland... in fact it has only happened 3 times before in the History of the Superliga, that the Champion is rock bottom with no win after the first two rounds in the following season and no team with 0 points after the first two rounds have ever managed to win the Danish Championship, though FC Nordsjælland only managed to collect 1 point in their first two games, when they won their Championship two years ago...

Still, the champions FCK are in real trouble if you also take their last 6 games from last season into account, because FCK have not managed a single win in their last 8 Superliga games in a row. In fact only OB Odense have done a worse job, by only picking up 3 point in their last 8 Superliga games and they have only managed 1 win in their last 16 Superliga games in a row, which also makes them a prime candidate for relegation this season, after having finished 10 just above the drop zone two years in a row.

The past two seasons, FC Nordsjælland have been relying on their excellent short passing game and a few quick top class centre backs to clean up, but now these defenders are gone and FCN have signed several new players who need to adapt. So as we also have seen in their first two games of this season, they are going to make more passing mistakes than usual and suffer because of their style of play because it is highly demanding and it takes time to get it right. So FCN are going to face trouble in a tactical league like the Superliga, though they are hardly going to suffer relegation, considering their depth.

But honestly, it's too soon to make any real prediction, except that this season is probably going to become the most unpredictable season ever... the two newly promoted teams are looking tactically very solid, but obviously need time to adjust to a higher pace, but the Danish 1. Division has improved in quality after it was cut from 18 to only 12 teams two years ago, while the clubs at the same time got a bigger share of the TV-money, so as we saw last season, when Randers and Esbjerg bot finished in top-4, Viborg and FCV Vikings are not going to be easy prey for the other Superliga teams.

FC Midtjylland have so far taken the lead in the Superliga, mainly thanks to playing at a higher pace than their opponents, but they are still in need of selling one or two of their best players this summer, so considering their lack of depth, they will hardly be able to stay at the top of the table for very long....

AaB Aalborg has also done better than expected, but we should not forget, that they have been able to keep most of their team and best young players the past few years, which now add some consistency, but they have lost their topscorer Helenius and their depth is paper thin, just as their young team seem to be in trouble in games against highly defensive minded opponents, which especially the smaller Superliga teams no doubt are going to take advantage of tactically this season.

Though Esbjerg lost at home to AaB, mainly due to a silly owngoal involving their otherwise highly rated goalkeeper Frederik Rønnow, as you can see in the highlights below, then it's the kind of mistake you can expect from a newly signed player, who need a few games to adapt to his new team-mates, but in my opinion we saw the real capacity of Esbjerg in their 4-0 trashing of FC Nordsjælland in the first round. They have a great young team right now, that could end up as Danish Champions, if FCK keep up their poor form. But it's a very youg Esbjerg team if their key players get injured as we also saw againt AaB, when their two key midfield engines Hans Henrik Andreasen and Norwegian Magnus Lekven were subbed out in the second half. But Esbjerg once more seem to havde done some excellent shopping, this time the only 20-yo Dutch striker Mick van Buren, who they picked up on a free transfer from Excelsior after he had scored 13 goals in 28 league games for his Dutch team last season.. and now two goal in his debut in the Superliga against FCN. So perhaps a new young striker on the rise in the Superliga this season ?.

I'm going to have a more extensive look at FC København and the other teams and transfers in my next few posts, so I will just add that except for Randers, the rest of the Superliga clubs are most likely going to show the same inconsistency as last season, because of their lack of depth and too many inexperienced youngsters in the team and squad. Brøndby are surely in for a rough and bumpy ride as their first two games also have revealed...

On a positive note, the attendance figures from the first round of this season, is an all-time record for a first round in the Superliga, and if you add up round 1 and 2, then attendance wise it is the best two rounds since the 2009/10 season, so while the attendance figures have been on decline the past few years, while the Superliga clubs at the same have replaced some of their more expensive big "name" players with young talent, it now seem like people this season may actually have required a taste for young promising future Star players, rather than attending the games to watch some older Danish and foreign internationals... Perhaps it is the sale of Cornelius, Helenius and Okore to the English Premier League that has opened their eyes and made them more interested in a more youthful looking Superliga.... or at least this is what I think...

Brøndby have been in terrible finanical trouble due to poor management the past seasons, but at the end of last season they were saved from bankruptcy in the very last minute by some new investors, though they are still not quite out of the woods financially, but they are more or less starting from scratch this season, with a brand new management and board, a new Director of football, a new inexperienced coach and lots of inexperienced players... as you also can see above, they have lost/axed most of their more experienced and expensive players, though they have also used this opportunity to sign a few experienced players to reinforce a shaky defense and midfield, also throwing a huge pile of money at the highly praised Esbjerg keeper Lukas Hradecky, to get him to sign a deal, but the big question is, if their defensive reinfircements will be enough to escape relegation, especially considering how inexperienced most of their players and their new head coach is...

Brøndby had hoped to hold on to Jens Stryger Larsen, but he chose a move to their now biggest rivals FC Nordsjælland. Brøndby and FCN are fightigt a tough battle to become the 2nd best team in the Copenhagen area and on Zealand (Sjælland ). So they can pick up the most talented young players in that region of Denmark.

Thomas Frank has been highly successful at managing the Danish U17 and U19 national teams the past few years, which I'm sure is why the new Brøndby management took a bold move by signing him, so he could prove his worth by working with a team of young Brøndby players, but he has absolutely no experience coaching at this level or coaching senior level players. So I would have to question his tactical skills at Superliga level and how he will be able to cope with the huge pressure at a big club like Brøndby...Is he going to be able to handle more experienced players and the media ?.... it surely will be exciting to follow...

So far they have not done all too well in their first two games, but it's a talented team that are going to rely on a few experienced key players like Mikkel Thygesen and Quincy Antipas plus hopefully some of their newly signed players. But injuries could become a huge problem, when you only have a handful of experienced players... otherwise they are mainly going to rely on young players like Simon Makienok and the very young U19 NT players Patrick da Silva who really impressed last season, Frederik Holst, Andrew Hjulsager and the young South African midfielder Lebogang Phiri ... but I do expect to see a few more reinforcements being signed before the transfer window is closed.

As usual, Brøndby have lost one of their big young talents, this time it was the U16 international Markus Bay who (surprise, surprise) has moved to Ajax ... do they ever get tired of picking up young Danish players ? ... last season Brøndby lost the very highly rated Danish U19 NT midfielder Pierre-Emile Højbjerg to Bayern München, their Danish U19 NT holding midfielder, Patrick Olsen to Inter Milan, the U17 NT centre back, Andreas Christensen to Chelsea and also the U18 NT left winger/striker, Mikkel Jensen to FC Nordsjælland, only getting development compensation fees for these great talents. So Brøndby need to keep a better hold on their best young players, if they once again are to become the top team they used to be.

---

When the financial crisis struck OB Odense some years back, they were forced to make some serious budget cuts and to let players like Djemba-Djemba, Bernard Mendy and Djiby Fall go, not really being able to afford some proper replacements, and now after having finished in 10th place just above the drop zone two years in a row, they have even less money to spend, considering a loss of TV-money and the lack of Europa Cup money they used to get, when they finished 2nd in the Superliga 3 years in a row. So they have not really been able to go shopping, without also letting some expensive players go... so goodbye to Silberbauer and the Norwegian international Marcus Pedersen, so they could sign the left back they have been looking for and Martin Spelmann to add some power in midfield... but so far they do not look much better than last season and I suspect that they will be stuck in the relegation battle this season as well.

Viborg FF do not have the same kind of money to spend as FCV Vikings, but they do have a very tactically clever head coach Ove Christensen who was voted 'manager of the year' 2010 in Denmark, when he was hired by Randers in mid season for a "mission impossible", but against all odds saved them from relegation in the Superliga, so he is the right kind of coach for this kind of mission, though on paper Viborg FF are going to be the absolute favorite to suffer relegation...

Their absolute biggest loss in this transfer window is the U21 NT goalkeeper Martin Hansen and then the experienced former Ghana international Razak Pimpong, but he was regarded to be over the hill. It also looked like they were not going to be able to reinforce their team in time, but on the very day the Superliga kicked off, they suddenly signed 3 reinforcements... the Slovakian goalkeeper Michal Peškovic, the very physically strong American centre back, Babajide “Jide” Ogunbiyi and the Danish U21 international Lukas Lerager, obviously players who are not experienced at Superliga level, but tactically Ove Christensen will try to make the best of it and they have come off to a very good start. Defensively they will do well, but their main problem is going to be the higher pace and how to get as many set pieces as possible, if they are to score the needed goals, because they hardly going to be much of a threat in open play.

Before the 2008/09 season, Danish 2. Division club Slagelse B&I of 1887 realised that they were in need of a much more professional setup, if they were ever to return to the top-flight of Danish football, so FCV was created and a 6-year plan of how to win promotion to the Danish 1. Division and then later to the Superliga in 2014. Behind the success of FCV Vikings is the Harboe brewery and the very rich former AGF Aarhus Chairman and part owner (and former Vice Chairman of the Republic National Bank of New York) Kurt Andersen. The only rich guy ever to have made a profit by throwing money at a Danish club in the past. He spend around €8.5 million ($11 million) on AGF, but still managed to make a nice profit through the sale of his AGF shares to other investors and through some transfer rights on Morten "Duncan" Rasmussen, Leon Andreasen and Michael Lumb...

I suspect he is now doing the very same at FCV, also once more working together with the highly experienced former AGF and Esbjerg manager Ove Pedersen, who is a real manager in the English sense of the word, besides being an excellent tactician, great at developing youth players, there are no other coach in the Superliga who scout the lower levels of Danish football more extensively, so he do almost all the scouting himself, or in other words, he is tirelessly on the road all the time in the spare moments he has. Tactically he has a defensive minded approach were they put up a good physical fight, though at times also keeping a high pressure, but he like his players to be able to adapt tactically, so he can change tactics as a match progress, all depending on how it is turning out, so he will probably start out with a 4-4-2 or 3-5-2 lineup, and then change it to 4-5-1 ... 3-3-4 ... 4-2-4 or what ever he believe will do the job in the end...so when you look closer at the FCV squad, you will notice that he has mainly been signing experienced players who he has coached in the past at AGF, Esbjerg and FC Midtjylland, so that they know his tactical approach.

The young talented players to watch out for is Danish U20 international Marc Rochester and the right back and the former youth international Oliver Lund who also made an excellent assist against Brøndby in his Superliga debut for FCV. SO FCV have made some excellent signings in my opinion, adding a mix of experience and highly talented youth to their team.

Besides the newly signed reinforcements, FCV also especially rely on the experienced winger Søren Berg, the physically strong Romanian centre back Jean-Claude Bozga who was signed in the winter break and has had time to adapt, while the creative flavor is their Brazilian winger Thiago Pinto Borges .... also their experienced centre back Sladan Peric could come in handy and surely add to their depth. but for now they mainly need to adapt to a higher pace in the Superliga. Otherwise they should easily be able to keep up.

So, will Brøndby continue to be poor this season as well?
They were fielding a rather young team last season as well, but was saved in the end by Rommedahl, Thygesen, Antipas ... and important goals by Jens Stryger Larsen and an otherwise no very good Goodson... but the point being, that they now have even less experienced players the young talents are able to lean on and to learn from.

So even if some of their yong players gained valuable experience last season, they will most likely be in just as big trouble at the bottom of the league this season, simply because they are adding even more young talents to their team, while they now got less experienced players....
.

#11 ·
I support AGF Aarhus ... unfortunately they are very poorly managed, so they wont be able to do much damage despite their financial situation looking much better than the likes of AaB Aalborg and FC Midtjylland ... but AGF seem to have no actual future plan of what to do, neither on the pitch or in the transfer windows.
.

#12 ·
Jørgensen! :strong:

Your boy Akharraz scored a nice goal last weekend.

You are right though, now that you say it, your club seems to have a nice thing going for a bit but then just can't seem to take the next step and win a title or sustain a challenge.

#13 ·
Well... the old AGF management were shrowing money out the window on useless injury prones... while the new management only are thinking of saving money and selling key players, to an extend where they cant get the replacements they need, because they also wont pay a decent wage, not even to their own young players, who also want to leave... so in reality they are not saving any money but losing it, because the team is doing terrible at home and are losing their home support, as you also can see by looking at their home attendance figures from last season that dropped 27% ... that is a lot of money to lose, just because they have become a cheapskate.

Danish Champions FC København have had a horrible start and though they looked good in the first 30 minutes of this match against Randers, producing a string of good attempts and also a goal by the young Danish/American midfield talent Thomas Delaney, they simply lost control as the match progressed, playing too slow and getting punished by Randers winger Borring and Superliga topscorer Ronnie Schwartz ... and a genuine topscorer is what FCK really need right now after the sale of Andreas Cornelius. FCK used to win their games in the Superliga, even if they were having a bad day, because they always could rely on a strong target man, like Cornelius and a Dame N'Doye or Marcus Allbäck, forwards who could secure a result at the end of a game, when their opponents got tired. But now the less physical and more light footed FCK strikers are having trouble against teams that know how to defend well, while the FCK defense also seem a bit too slow which obviously has not been solved by signing an aging Olof Mellberg.... FCK are also troubled by the fact that their young creative winger Nicolai Jørgensen, who also scored lots of goals for them last season, is injured at the moment, so they also lack some creativity in midfield... As for Randers, they are relying on their speed and a good solid team-work, just like last season.

In any case, no team has ever finished in top-6 in the Superliga after having lost their first 3 games, and the way FCK finished last season, there is no reason to believe that this is just a small unfortunate bump on their road to a Danish Championship.. FCK have not managed a single win in their last 9 Superliga games in a row, the statistics says 5 losses and 4 draws and a score of 4-11, so they have only managed to score 4 goals in their last 9 Superlga games.... perhaps FCK has also become a "victim" of their own success last season, in the the way that FCK also used feel the need and urge to win the more unimportant games at the end of a season, while it seemed like they lost their hunger for victory when they practically had secured last seasons Championship... and it's dangerous to slow down and suddenly dont care about a result, because when you develop this kind of losing mentality over several games, it suddenly is hard to get rid of this mentality, when you start up a new season, especially if your team perhaps is not quite as strong as it used to be...

FC Nordsjælland have lost some key players and are having trouble with implementing their 3-4-3 system, considering that they no longer have the quick and physical Jores Okore to clean up in defense... AGF on the other hand are taking a more defensive minded approach this season with a kind of 4-1-4-1 system, with Martin Jørgensen (or Hjalte Nørregaard) helping the defense by making up for the lack of passing skills by some also fairly slow AGF centre backs ... the problem with this lineup is, that it reveal that AGF are in huge trouble if they fall a goal behind, because they tactically cant do much to change the flow of play and they rely too much on their quick wingers and Casper Sloth in central midfield to deliver the goals, because their opponents have little to fear from their strikers, when Søren Larsen almost constantly is injured, or not really match fit.... But FCN were playing too slow to be much of a threat to the AGF defense, and since both the creative AGF midfielders Osama Akharraz and Casper Sloth were at the top of their game, they made the difference in this otherwise rather slow-paced tactical battle. Only the experienced FCN captain Nicolai Stokholm and the young newly signed Danish U21 NT Left winger Oliver Thychosen were able to look dangerous and do some damage for the visitors in this match.

As I was predicting last week, the young AaB Aalborg team is doing well when they do not have to control a match, but can rely on their opponents to have most possession, but their young team is in all sorts of trouble as soon as they are up against a tactically clever, defensive minded and physically stronger team like the FCV Vikings, that even took an early lead after a corner kick and a nice header by the strong Romanian centre back Jean-Claude Bozga, which made this almost a mission impossible for AaB Aalborg, because FCV Vikings then tactically could do what they are best at, despite a last-minute owngoal by an otherwise well playing Oliver Lund, who also made an assist... but a tactical triumph for the FCV manager Ove Pedersen, which in itself is no big surprise ...

Both AaB and FCV Vikings are still on the transfer market looking for a real forward, but so far the highly experienced winger/striker, Dennis Sørensen has done the trick for FCV Vikings.. a good signing no doubt, but they still need to add a strong target man to their team.

The match in Odense between OB and newly promoted Viborg revealed quite a few things ... the Odense defense still suck badly, but they had become much more dangeruos in attack with a young very technically strong and creative Rasmus Falk now having returned from a 7 month recovery from illness and with a likewise young Bashkim Kadrii now finally once more being able to play his favorite positions as a left winger/striker, rather than being used as a left back, which was the case all last season... but unfortunately Bashkim Kadrii got injured shortly after his second goal, in a duel with the very same Christopher Poulsen who he had badly fouled when he scored his second goal, so perhaps the Viborg players would just call it karma, but Kadrii suffered a cruciate ligament injury and need surgery, so he is out for the next 6 month, which is a huge blow for Odense... so now they mainly have to pin their hopes on Rasmus Falk and Emil Larsen who delivered an absolute brilliant solo-performance and goal in this match against a slow Viborg defense.

As for Viborg, then they had a very bad day at the office, despite scoring two goals.... They did not seem ready and focused from start and so their whole game plan was ruined within 1 minute, when OB managed to score twice, though the second Odense goal should never have been allowed by the referee... Viborg really need to be at their very best defensively and tactically, if they are not to finish rock bottom in the Superliga this season and when they are not focused from start, they will surely get raped like in this match.

I was going to post an update today before I went to work, but then I discovered that "all hell" was about to break lose at at FCK ... and also at Brøndby (big transfers and a huge pile of money to Brøndby)... so I'll need to investigate a bit more ... not to forget that a big sale at FC Midtjylland is closing in and Per Krøldrup now seem on the verge of signing with AGF .... the Superliga has turned upside down and has gone quite mad so far this season... so I can hardly start typing before it has all changed.

The bottom clash between last seasons Champions and Silver medalists actually became a very good and rather even match slightly dominated by FC Nordsjælland, though the return of Nicolai Jørgensen was able to raise the level of FCK... and as you can also see in the extended highlights below, it was the visitors from FCK that took the lead through an excellet goal by the Icelandic winger Rúrik Gíslason, who btw has also looked good for an FCK team that otherwise has done rather poorly, not least FCKs Swedish keeper Johan Wiland has been far from his usual level, though he has not had much help from his defense either, like the penalty he was forced to make on Nordstrand in this match due to a terrible back-pass. Also newly signed Olof Mellberg has done rather poorly in the first few games, so he was benched in this match, with the excuse that he need more time to adapt to a new team and a different style of play. Still, FCK managed to take a 2-1 lead through a questionable penalty that looked more like ball to hand and not really hand ball in the box, but justice was served in the end, when Nordstrand managed to provide the icing on the cake by scoring an absolutely brilliant bicycle kick goal against his former club

Esbjerg beat AGF Aarhus by 5-1 in a match that actually was highly tactical and rather boring for the most part and seemed slightly to sway to the advantage of AGF Aarhus until Esbjerg took a 2-1 lead in the 56th minute... after that AGF was forced to change their solid 4-1-4-1 formation and take a more attacking minded approach, which was badly punished by a highly efficient Esbjerg team, but this was also the last match and goal by Martin Braithwaite for Esbjerg, because he has been sold to French side Toulouse for a €2 million transfer fee. Still, as you can also see in thew topscorers list, Esbjerg have had a very lucky hand on the transfer market, signing the young talented Dutch striker Mick van Buren, just as their young highly talented right back Peter Ankersen has never looked better and also scored an absolutely brilliant goal in this match.

The Superliga has turned upside down and sideways and could be in for even more twists and turns before the transfer window is closed on 2 Spetember, so I have postponed my usual transfer updates and predictions until the transfer window is finally closed.

As you can see, then Brøndby got raped by an excellent playing FC Midtjylland team that seem to be heading straight for a Danish Championship by the look of how they are playing and how the other supposed top teams are doing at the moment, while FC København lost yet another step at home by playing 1-1 against an AGF Aarhus team that may suffer from a lack of good strikers and some slow moving centre backs, but do have a very strong looking central midfield with former FCK captain Hjalte Nørregaard, the defensive minded "energizer bunny" Kasper Povlsen and creative playmaker Casper Sloth working together in solid looking 4-1-4-1 system, which FCK had huge problems dealing with in this match, so there is not much to say about the 1-1 result that seemed fair considering the opportunities created and also possession wise.

So obviously it was FC København and Brøndby that became the talk of the Superliga both before and after this round 5, when Brøndby first announced that Simon Makienok had refused an expected $5.5 million move to the capital city of the Chechen Republic and Russian side Terek Grozny, so that Brøndby were now expecting a likewise €4 million deficit this season, then to make yet another announcement that their new investors are to throw at least €11.7 million (+ a possible further €4.4 million ) at new shares in the club just a few month after they signed up for €14.5 million worth of new Brøndby shares...

No doubt Brøndby have been using much more money than expected, paying old debts, signing new players and not getting the sponsorships, results or transfer money they had expected and hoped for... and in fear of a costly relegation, the investors were now demanding some serious reinforcements in return for some more heavy investments in the club... and their first demand was the signing of Danish international Thomas Kahlenberg and the young U19 NT midfielder Christian "Ballack" Nørgaard from Hamburger SV, who their former U19 NT coach Thomas Frank has been asking for, just as Brøndby are now negotiating with Spanish side Recreativo de Huelva over the signing of the Argentinian winger Alexander Szymanowski... So Brøndby clearly do not want to stay lost at the bottom of the league for much longer.

As for FC København, then they eventually stole the head-lines from Brøndby when they announced that they had fired head coach Ariël Jacobs and had replaced him with their former head coach Ståle Solbakken ... but they have also signed the genuine target man they have been missing so badly this season, the young Nigerian U23 international Fanendo Adi.

While the Brøndby management/investors probably were in a state of panic because they were using way too much money to no effect, I dont think it was by chance Ariël Jacobs got fired by FCK after the AGF game, considering that their next two games are against newly promoted FCV Vikings and Viborg FF ... so this was their best moment and opportunity to save their sinking ship... at least on paper, they should win.

Btw I forgot to write about the Emil Larsen transfer scandal last week, when Brøndby had made OB the €1.2 million clause bid, needed to release him from his contract ... so he was on his way to Brøndby, but then all of a sudden, they proclaimed that he had not been able to pass the medical and the deal was off..

Very strange, considering that there is nothing wrong with Emil Larsen except that he had some knee surgery while he was playing for Lyngby before he moved to Odense, but he was able to pass a medical back then and has not been troubled by this injury ever since and even one of the most prominent specialist in Denmark is saying that he is fine and there is nothing to worry about... In any case, Brøndby have had no problems signing knee injured players in the past, which is how they got their hands on Michael Krohn-Dehli after he had just recovered from surgery in both knees.

It seem more likely that Brøndby discovered that they did not have the money to sign Emil Larsen when the $5.5 million Makienok deal to Russia went down the drain... and their new investors at the same time seemed set on Brøndby signing a "name" like Thomas Kahlenberg, rather than Emil Larsen, if they were to throw more money at the club... so they dumped Emil Larsen in favor of Kahlenberg and the demands of their rich investors...

In any case, Emil Larsen had someting to prove and was OB Odenses best player against FCV and also made it to the 'Team of the week' as you can see above.

Brøndby should have won... but Thomas Kahlenberg looked great, despite not really being match fit, but he is just very clever playing, making the right moves and passes, so I predict that he will do great for a young Brøndby team that at times has been playing like headless chickens... they really need an experienced tactically clever playmaker like Kahlenberg in this team.

As for FCK, then Fanendo Adi seem to be just the kind of strong target man they have been missing, but their defense is ridiculously poor at the moment ... I dont really know what happened to Johan Wiland... he used to be the best keeper in the league, but now he is quite terrible, just as Olof Mellberg simply has been looking too slow for an attacking minded side like FCK... he is still a very clever defender and great header, so he would no doubt be excellent for a team that is defending low... I suspect he will do great for FCK in Champions League, where FCK are not suppose to dominate possession...

Today is the last day before the transfer window is closed in Denmark... and traditionally Danish clubs are waiting to pick up players who have been hoping for bigger offers from bigger leagues, so this is also why I have to stay up all night and have not had much focus on writing a Superliga update this past week... the transfers are just pouring in at the moment as I'm writing this... but I can say that FCK, Randers and especially Esbjerg are sure to make some last minute signings, but also FCM are considering their options due to injuries in central midfield... as for AGF, then they are on the brink of a sale of their playmaker Casper Sloth to French side Nice, which then should result in some last minute signings as well..

Todays rumours and transfers :

FC Nordsjælland have signed the Dutch Right/left winger Joshua John on a 3½-year deal from FC Twente ... he was rumoured to be on his way to FCK earlier in this transfer window, but apparently they only gave him 24 hours to make up his mind, so he said no and has now been sold to FCN on the last day of the transfer window.

FCK on the other hand seem sure to have an agreement with Norwegian international Daniel Braaten ...

Esbjerg have signed the Norwegian U21 international Mushaga Bakenga on a 1-year loan from Club Brugge, with an option to buy.

Esbjerg are also keen on picking up the Danish/American right back Ryan Johnson Laursen from Lyngby.. they are negotiating according to the Lyngby director, but it is complicated by the fact that Lyngby also need to find a replacement for the young Danish U21 international.

According to German media Brøndby are now said to be negotiating a last minute deal to sign Macedonian international Ferhan Hasani from VfL Wolfsburg.

FC Midtjylland are badly troubled by injuries in central midfield and are rumoured to be interested in signing former Danish international Daniel Jensen.

AGF Aarhus seem close to release or sell their English left back Adam Eckersley and if this should happen, they are ready to sign a deal with Japanese international Michihiro Yasuda ... Per Krøldrup could also still be a possible last minute signing for AGF.

Randers FC have officially signed a 2-year contract with the strong Senegalese target man Baye Djiby Fall.

AGF Aarhus have signed a 4-month loan deal with the young Manchester City defensive midfielder Mohammed Abu.

Viborg are officially negotiating a 1-year loan deal with the Dutch FC Groningen full back/defensive midfielder Tom Hiariej.

According to the English newspaper Express & Star, FCK are now rumoured to be interested in a last minute signing of the French attacking midfielder Bakary Sako who FCK coach Ståle Solbakken obviously know well from his time at Wolverhampton Wanderers. FCK are also being linked with Wolverhamptons Austrian centre back Georg Margreitter

FCK are also rumoured to be interested in signing MLS and Sierra Leone striker Kei Kamara from Sporting Kansas City.
