Toronto made the semifinals of the CONCACAF Champions League defeating LA Galaxy 4:3 on aggregate. Pretty much against the run of play in LA but still a good achievement for Toronto. They are also the only MLS club left in the competition and will play Mexican side Santos Laguna who beat Seatlle 7:3 on aggregate (lost 2:1 in Seattle but won 6:1 in Mexico)

They played relatively well against LAG, some good finishing and could have had one or two more. GK Kocic made brilliant saves against Keane and it was only the OG from Ty Harden that really put us under pressure. Saw the home leg and that was a cracking match, this one was also full of drama. I'll be at BMO for the home leg against santos, but I'm not looking forward to the game away.

Apart from LA in our last 3 games all we have is a draw to show for. That's pretty crap when in the league the limpact have more points than us and we're in for a shit-kicking in Mexico next week.
Oh and did I mention the KKKrew are in this Saturday? Looks promising. Sorry for the pessimism but I'm not too pleased these days with MLS&E.

Santos game was an incredible atmosphere but we really should have done better. 1-1 is going to make next weds incredibly rough.
MLSE has done well bringing in Winter but this should have started 5 years ago.
Going to Crew tomorrow but I expect it to be a throwaway game. Hopefully play some youth and rest up the senior squad for Santos, we'd be crazy going all out for this one.

Aceval's FK was great, I got to see it up close! They were attacking the supporter's end, the place erupted!!!
I'm very happy to have him on board.
Glad you had a good time in our country, come back anytime!

I don't think it's going to get better.
On the first goal tonight RSL had more players in the 6 than we had. This is just a disaster and I felt the club shot itself by getting rid of DeRo, a legitimate legend, and keeping that overrated 'Designated Player' at 2 mil, who doesn't defend anything as a 'defensive' mid.
This has been a joke the past two years and they have the nerve to raise ticket prices.
This is nothing but a rot and it won't be fixed.
Crying shame. The fans deserve way better than this.

The first game of the home and away aggregate goal series will be played at Olympic Stadium on Wednesday, May 2 while the return match will take place at BMO Field, the following week, on May 9.

Winter insists TFC the better team vs. Montreal
TORONTO – Toronto FC’s losing streak has to end sometime, right?
Head coach Aron Winter is confident that moment will come on Wednesday, when the Reds hit the road to take on the Montreal Impact in the first game of the Amway Canadian Championship (8 pm ET, Rogers Sportsnet in Canada).
The Reds are 0-7 so far in the MLS regular season and winless in their last nine games overall, including a draw and a loss against Santos Laguna in the CONCACAF Champions League.
“When you get the first victory everything is going to change,” Winter said. “We deserve it also. Almost all the games we have played we were almost stronger than each opponent and that’s why it’s a little bit disillusioning and disappointing that, after seven games, you’ve got zero points.”

D.C. Defeat

Toronto suffers 2-0 loss at BMO Field to remain winless in MLS
TORONTO – History of the unfortunate kind was made on Saturday afternoon.
Toronto FC lost a record eighth straight game to open the season as Chris Pontius and Hamdi Salihi scored in the second half to give D.C. United a 2-0 win before 18,364 at BMO Field.
Pontius’s matchwinner came in the 55th minute when he struck a left-footed rocket from outside the box into the top left corner. It was his fifth goal of the season.

TRIALIST
Winter On Trialist
Head coach discusses Luis Boa Morte
Photo: Luis Boa Morte with West Ham in action against Deportivo La Coruna in 2010 (Getty).
TORONTO – Former Portuguese international Luis Boa Morte could be worth more than just a look on trial, according to Toronto FC manager Aron Winter.
“He is a good player and we can get him, probably,” Winter said on Tuesday at BMO Field after Boa Morte trained with TFC. “We want to give him at least a trial to watch him first. I think that he is a player, if you’re going to sign him or whatever, he could be an advantage.”
The 34-year-old has played for such teams as Arsenal, Fulham and West Ham in England. He most recently played for the Orlando Pirates in South Africa but left the team last week and has been released from his contract.
