It's a bit disspopinting that he is playing in Azeri league now. He seemed to be destined for greater things.

well, most of estonians were hoping he would succeed in Russia at least.
So nothing bad about the azeri league but the hopes were a bit higher. At least its nice to see he is doing well.

Verpakovskis to Celta Vigo (Second spanish division). Pffiou i completely lost tracks with his moves.
Verpakovskis seeks Spanish success
Having led the Baltic nation to the finals of UEFA EURO 2004™, Aleksandrs Starkovs is back in charge of Latvia, but in to give his side hope for the forthcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, he needs star striker Maris Verpakovskis to be back at his best.
Ambitious forward
The 28-year-old is without doubt the best of Latvia's players. Blessed with pace and wonderful dribbling ability, the hero of the 2004 qualifying play-off defeat of Turkey is capable of creating goals from nothing, and Latvian fans expect a lot of the 71-times capped international – though not perhaps as much as the player expects of himself. He told uefa.com: "I've scored 23 goals at international level and hope to raise that number to 30 soon. In the last three qualifying campaigns for major tournaments I always managed to score at least five goals. I will do my best to at least maintain this kind of goalscoring form."
'Nothing is impossible'
The former SK Liepājas Metalurgs player is hoping Latvia can kick off their Group 2 campaign with good results away against Moldova and at home against Greece on 6 and 10 September, saying: "It's very important to start well. Latvia have a lot of potential. The young players have a good motivation, while the veterans want to repeat their Portugal's experience of four years ago. Nothing is impossible under Starkovs. Obviously, we are not in a group of death, so everything depends on us."
Dynamo despair
Two injury-ravaged seasons at FC Dynamo Kyiv have seen Verpakovskis lose some of his lustre. "I'm far from the kind of form I was in at EURO 2004™, but that's because of the injuries," he admitted. "I don't want to live on my memories. I want to play and score again." To that end, a one-year loan move to Spanish second division side RC Celta de Vigo is a big lift. "I'm very happy with the move to Celta, as I understand that I don't fit into Dynamo's plans," he said. "I don't want to sit on the bench. It's very important to play regularly."
Spanish experience
Loaned to Getafe CF, as well as HNK Hajduk Split, in recent seasons, Verpakovskis knows what to expect in Spain. "I know the language and I know the country, so shouldn't have any problems with adapting," he said. If he can find his goalscoring feet again in Spain, the whole of Latvia will have something to cheer.

Been in Hungary more than few times and just recently was there and I honestly would like to see, how they accept a personality like Kink. Jesus, did you see his sunglasses yesterday?

Klavan to AZ
With injuries starting to bite, Eredivisie leaders AZ Alkmaar have brought forward their transfer of Estonian international left-back Ragnar Klavan from Dutch rivals Heracles Almelo.
Defensive assignment
The 23-year-old Klavan has linked up with Louis van Gaal's team on an initial six-month loan, which will run into a permanent four-year deal when his contract at Heracles expires in the summer. "Ragnar is a player we have been watching for a while," said AZ director of football Marcel Brands. "We already had an agreement with him for next season, but because of injuries to Héctor Moreno and Niklas Moisander we could use a left-sided defender now. At Heracles he also played on midfield, but we have signed him as a defender."
Heracles spell
Already capped 52 times by Estonia, the move ends a three-and-a-half year spell at Heracles for Klavan, who moved to the Netherlands from Vålerenga IF in 2005.

WATFORD LAND LATVIAN WINGER
Mon 02 Feb 2009
LATVIAN Aleksandrs Cauna has today (Monday) joined Watford on loan for the rest of the season from FC Skonto Riga.
Following the signing of midfielder Don Cowie from Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Cauna joins the Hornets in a temporary move in a bid to impress boss Brendan Rodgers and earn a permanent deal at Vicarage Road.
Cauna, also known as Sasa, is a left-sided winger and joins the 'Orns having previously been on trial at the likes of Chelsea.

Verpakovskis will play this season with Ergotalis, in Greece. Has you can remember he is still owned for 10000000 years to Dynamo Kiev.
He is the only one to wear flip-flop there on this pic though.

La Liga club Almeria signed a 20-year old forward Nikita Andreev from Levadia Tallinn for around €350K-400K. This is one of the most high-profile transfers ever in the history of Estonian league.
Andreev is born in Estonia and has been living here for his whole life but decided not to apply for Estonian citizenship and has represented Russia in U-19 level.

11/12/2009 - Estonian national team all time top-scorer Andres Oper is looking for a club after his contract with Chinese Shenua Shanghai ended last month.
32-year-old striker had an offer from Mexico but turned it down since he was not interested in moving so far from Europe.
Meanwhile former Levadia Tallinns 21-year-old winger Sander Puri is busy showing himself across Europe. He had a testing spell with Scot giant Glasgow Celtic but hasnt got an answer so far. He ended his week in Greece, where he was with Larissa FC.
Also out of contract is central defender Alo Bärengrub while his partner Raio Piiroja is looking for a opportunity to move away from relegated Fredrikstad.
Did Oper managed to find a new club, finally ?

Well, Oper could be of good use for my club.
Meanwhile Joel Lindpere is on trial at German 2nd divisionist Hansa Rostock. Looks like he's been doing quite well in Norway the last years, but has terminated his contract.

Lindpere to NY Red Bulls,
Sander Puri to AE Larissa 1964,
Oper to ADO Den Haag,
Aksalu to Sheffield United,
Zahovaiko to Leiria
Main moves in the winter transfer market which for me makes it quite a good one. Hopefully all will succeed aswell. Or realistically put, id be more then happy when 2-3 would succeed.

Good news coming in as German 2nd divisionist Alemannia Aachen has signed Henrik Ojamaa after several weeks on trial as free agent. Hope to see him play for the first team on some occasions.

Tarmo Kink went to Middlesborough from Györi ETO where he was performing really good this year. Of course it's Championship not EPL but they'e a big club and might be back there soon.
