EPL: Newcastle vs Liverpool, 1st April 12:30

the match will be tomorrow and no one had been interested to open this thread. a tough opponent this week.

it's time to come back to win matches and forget the last horrible games against QPR and Wigan

I have a feeling we might sneak a win here, away from home against a decent opponent, but logically speaking, i just don't see it .

I don't care if he does nothing on the pitch, acting as mascot. If the stats continue favour when he starts. I want him in the starting 11. You say divine presence, Charisma is a more practical term for that. That is exactly what he has and what the rest of the team lacks when he doesn't play.

Always thought that football is a sport where team that has scored more goals at the end of the game is the winner. Call me old-fashioned but I prefer measurable output from striker like goals and assists, instead of mysterious attributes like charisma. I also expect keepers to do cruicial saves, defenders trying to prevent opponents from scoring, midfielder to support either attack or and forwards running their socks off and trying to score.

Is it really that much to expect one EPL forward to score from time to time ?

we have no strikers like that, and until we do we should be starting with the attack that has given us the most success...its not like last season where Kuyt was in form during Carrolls knee injury

your fine with providing statistics with everything else, but you are quick to dismiss this for whatever reason, nobody here is arguing whether or not Carroll is a goal scoring machine or a great striker for that matter because quite frankly this season hes been far from either....but when you winning matches with a specific group its foolish to change it up

we keep criticising players till we lose them all... carroll was awful in some matches. but, i don't think the reds is that magnificent side when he doesn't start though.

No worries, with his price tag, Andy Carroll is forever ours. And nobody criticised Xabi, Masch or Nando and we lost them anyway while Lucas/Skrtel got a lot of stick and are still reds.

Football popularity is double edge sword, you get praise when you are up and get stick when you are down. Nothing one pro player cant deal with, hitting slump and recovering from it is part of a life of every athlete.

nobody said that. I dont complain when Carroll plays well, despite not scoring, like vs Cardiff, Man City (CC) away, ManUtd (CC) home etc.

But I dont buy those W/L stats and support Kenny´s decision to drop him from starting XI, if he does it. I see no reason why player with higher efficiency like Bellamy should warm the bench. Just because he came for cheap and noone needs to justify his price tag ? Maxi scored 2 in 7 EPL games and warms a bench, which is weird.

you right.. and of course none is above critic especially when he isn't doing well. but, sometimes it's over and over which let someone lose his concentration... we need his efforts, bellamy,s kuyt, maxi, gerrard and every player n the next weeks.

agree about Bellamy, he's so effective and dangerous in every game for him. to warm the bench or not it's Kenny's decision who should manage rotation quite well to get the best out of them. him and Maxi don't get their full chance..

stat of a day: Maxi played 7 EPL games, 5x as a starter. We lost only 1 when he played from beginning.
