Fuertes se da tiempo para decidir su continuidad en la UC

SANTIAGO.- Esteban Fuertes está complicado debido a la oferta que le hizo Colón de Santa Fe para regresar al fútbol argentino. El delantero tiene contrato vigente con Universidad Católica, pero a Colón lo lleva en el corazón. Por eso dice que pensará mucho la decisión a tomar.

"En un momento de mi carrera atravesé por momentos muy difíciles y Colón me abrió las puertas. Pude recuperarme y cumplir grandes campañas. Estoy muy agradecido de ellos y no es ningún misterio que me gustaría terminar mi carrera allá", sostiene Fuertes en la página web del club cruzado.

Sin embargo, el tema familiar también influirá en la decisión del goleador. "No es cosa de partir y volver a Argentina así como así. Tengo que evaluarlo muy bien con mi familia, ya que mis hijas están estudiando acá y se sienten muy cómodas en este país. Es una decisión difícil y que analizaré mucho".

El que ya no tiene que analizar es Nicolás Núñez. El polifuncional jugador, de buena campaña en el Apertura con la camiseta de Everton, amarró su reincorporación a la UC, desde donde partió el año pasado para probar suerte en el Albecete de España.

Núñez llega a préstamo por una temporada, pues su pase sigue pertenciendo al club europeo.

"Vengo con una gran motivación al volver a la institución donde me formé. Tengo muy buenos amigos en el plantel y le tengo un cariño especial a la institución. Soy un hincha más, pero para mí es un desafío por todos los objetivos que tiene la UC para este segundo semestre", sostuvo Núñez.

El ex Everton se suma así al delantero Julio Gutiérrez como contrataciones de cara al torneo Clausura.

La UC jugará un partido amistoso este fin de semana con Unión Española en San Carlos de Apoquindo y el 12 y 14 de julio contra Alianza de Lima y San Martín en Perú.

Héctor Tapia reforzará el ataque de Universidad Católica

El ex seleccionado chileno retorna al conjunto cruzado después de su paso en 1999 y se suma a los también delanteros Julio Gutiérrez y Nicolás Núñez.

El presidente ejecutivo de la rama de fútbol de Universidad Católica, Felipe Achondo, reveló este sábado que el delantero Héctor Tapia es la nueva incorporación del club cruzado para el segundo semestre.

El ex jugador de Colo Colo, Perugia, Lille, Cruzeiro, Unión Española, FC Thun y Palestino llegó a un acuerdo con la institución estudiantil y llega en calidad de préstamo por un año.

Durante la jornada, el ariete, que ya en 1999 estuvo en la institución cruzada, se someterá a diversos exámenes médicos para determinar su condición y en caso de no presentar inconvenientes, estampará su firma que lo ligará a la escuadra dirigida por el peruano José Guillermo del Solar.

Tapia, se transformará así en el tercer refuerzo del equipo de la franja, tras los fichajes de los también delanteros Julio Gutiérrez y Nicolás Núñez. (Agencias)

Peru name Del Solar as new coach

LIMA, July 24 (Reuters) -

Former midfielder Jose del Solar was named as the new coach of Peru on Tuesday, replacing Julio Cesar Uribe who was fired last week after four months in the job.

The appointment was announced by Peruvian federation director Juvenal Silva in a radio interview from Chile, where Del Solar, 39, currently coaches Universidad Catolica.

"We had a meeting to fine-tune the details," Silva told the RPP radio station. "We agreed that the task is to qualify Peru for the next World Cup."

Del Solar, who became Peru's fifth coach in the last three years after Paulo Autuori, Freddy Ternero, Franco Navarro and Uribe, played for a number of clubs including Universitario in his homeland and Tenerife and Valencia in Spain.

He was also a regular for Peru for several years.

He began his coaching career with Sporting Cristal in Lima before joining Universidad Catolica.

Uribe was fired after Peru lost 4-0 to Argentina in the quarter-finals of the Copa America in Venezuela earlier this month.

His second stint in the job lasted only seven games and produced two wins, one draw and four defeats.

After his first game in charge, a 2-0 defeat away to Japan, Uribe was fined 30 percent of a month's wages for going to a nightclub after the match.

Peru, once a force in South American football, have not qualified for the World Cup since 1982.
