The Real Madrid quiz thread

How about a quiz-collection with the best club in the world?

Some of them easy:
*He scored 83 goals in 84 matches for one of his national teams (he also played four matches for another country without goals).

*What do Alfredo Di Stéfano and Donati has in common?

Some harder:
*This man was president when Real Madrid won it`s first two league titles.

*"illa illa illa ****** maravilla", which talented winger is this?

Ans ome toughies:
*He started out at 17, a striker, became captain, and made no money for years.

*He was the first star of Real Madrid. A commanding french midfielder, who share his name with another french midfielder, the latter is active today.

Good idea Nino :).

Alternativly, this could be done like similar trivia threads in XT. somoene asks a question and who ever gives the first correct answer, gets to ask the next one...and so on...

What do other think?

el niño August 27th, 2002 15:22

Hmm, like your idea Mo :) Let`s say the first one to answer my questions correctly can ask a new question?

aurélie, Puskas is of course correct. But Bernabéu didn` t win the two first titles as president.

And René Petit, is correct, amazing!

also, Juanito is the one...

illa, illa, illa, Juanito maravilla! :star:

Juanito is probably on of the best wingers we ever had. He was also famous for two episodes, which Luis de Carlos wish he could forget:D, one on the pitch, and one off the pitch. Do you remember what he did?

Juan Gómez González "Juanito" 10 november 1954 - 2 april 1992 RIP

Vampire Lestat August 27th, 2002 15:26

Nino,

Its best we keep it one question at a time! :) so either aurelie gets to ask, or who ever answers the president question first correct. pick one!

To answer the president question: its Luis Usera Bugallal

el niño August 27th, 2002 16:17

okay

well, aurélie was first, but since you are online (and answered correctly)...

you`ll better come up with a good question! :D

Vampire Lestat August 27th, 2002 17:07

nah, lets be fair. Aurelie deserves to ask, she got so many right and she did answer first :)

so aurelie, ask away!

-which German defender was forty times selections with his country and remained 8 years with the real Madrid?

Nene.....ni idea! What player looked like a small kid?

German defender, has to be "Uli" Stielike.

Former player is, Luis "el mangas" Molowny.

good anwsers for the 2 last questions

for the first he was born in argentina

el niño August 27th, 2002 19:04

Aha, it was of course the great Hector Rial! He was no baby, but I remember that I read about how Di Stefano recommended the youngster to Real Madrid. It was surely el segundo regalo de Stefano (the first one being the liga title).

So, I`ll ask the same question again :)

He (Juanito) was also famous for two episodes, which Luis de Carlos (president at the time) wish he could forget, one on the pitch, and one off the pitch. Do you remember what he did?

yes Rial ...

i don't undertsand the question

el niño August 27th, 2002 20:12

Juanito is especially famous for two episodes. One of them happened in a european match (UEFA cup 1987), and involved Juanito and a famous german player. The other incident did not take part on a football field, and involves a bull:D

Kinda strange question, but I figure the boys/girls who followed the team for a while knows what I`m talkin about.

MILLS August 27th, 2002 20:51

I remember Juanito stepped on the German player´s head and got sent off. He apologised after the match though:rolleyes:

The second question... he got injured in a "corrida de toros":D

el niño August 27th, 2002 21:03

Correct! He stepped on Matthäus head, and was banned from european competitions for five years (which meant he could still play in Spain).

Injured in a corrida de toros, and not only that, he got fined heavily! I`d love to see the presidents face when he found out that Juanito "played" matador:D

Well, MILLS, looks like you`re next.

MILLS August 27th, 2002 21:13

Ok, here is the question...

In another game against Bayern at Bernabeu (it wasn´t the same game, was it? ) there was another famous episode that got the name of "el loco del Bernabeu"...

Could someone tell us what it was all about?? I´m sure you can;)

it was in 1976, somebody assaulted the referee

MILLS August 28th, 2002 00:01

It was easy:tongue:

Good Aurelie. Your turn I guess.;)

aurélie August 28th, 2002 00:13

I'm not sure if this is the right question you asked so I might be answering something totally different... but I'll give it a try.

Since we won five European Cups in a row Real Madrid is the only team that actually owns a Cup... we own the real cup not a copy like other teams that have won it after that.
