Zvonimir Boban VS Dejan Savicevic

this is open to everyone not only CROS AND SERBS heheh
who was a better palyer and which one could play today in The AC team ??? my vote has to go to SAVICEVIC due to the fact that he was more skillfull than Boban with the ball at his feet!

Dagoods April 27th, 2005 18:04

LMAO another vs VS vs thread :D.....I smell a merge coming up :D

Ambis April 27th, 2005 18:15

This is a tough one but i would have to give the edge to Savicevic.

Osman April 27th, 2005 18:34

Savicevic here too,he was an amazing magician,a true artist. But yeah, its hard to choose, but Savicevic being so unbelieveably skillfull edges things out.

ZvoneBoban April 27th, 2005 18:56

:star: Boban :star: is better.... hes in the top 100 players of all time...dejan is not.
did better on the world stage, spent the better part of his career in Milan....and when he retired he had the likes of Pele, Maldini, Weah at his ceremony. They respected him.

No92 is Zvonimir Boban, the mercurial AC Milan midfielder and the pride of Croatia. Boban received 25,078 votes, while at No91 is Juanito, a similarly colourful character from the previous decade who brought pleasure to Spanish fans, and particularly those of Real Madrid CF, throughout the early 1980s.

Boban was also voted higher each time than Savicevic for player of the year.

Il genio because close ball control like that is art and players like that are rare. A Savicevic is born, a Boban is made.

Yeh because those top 100 player lists are so accurate

Boban was probably more consistent but Dejo was just able to produce magic, too bad he didn't get to play at the World Cup in 94 because that would have been his tournament.

ZvoneBoban April 27th, 2005 19:12

post this thread in Milan forum and lets see...... or have a poll...would be interesting

GICA April 27th, 2005 19:13

They were different players

Dule April 27th, 2005 19:16

It may just be me but I have the feeling Milan fans love Dejo more.

shemy April 27th, 2005 19:22

This is very interesting indeed i'm gonna ask one of the Milan forum moderators to make a poll of this on the Milan forum.

Fred Elliot April 27th, 2005 21:34

I saw quite a lot of these guys. Both brilliant players, but there was just something about Savicevic.

Hajduk_Hrvatska April 27th, 2005 21:43

Boban is one of my favorite players ever, and I don't like Serbs that much, so my opinion is obviously biased. I find it hard comparing these two players..

Where's Haroon the Communist?

Roy Race April 27th, 2005 23:47

It's not a case of Boban v Savicevic, but Boban AND Savicevic. I wouldn't like to compare two of my favourite players to the detriment of one or the other. Boban was just about the complete player - he would knock some of the big name midfielders of today into a cocked hat. Savicevic was pure football - just about the most stylish and smoooooooothest operator I've ever seen on the pitch and one of the best left-footed players ever. Both of them would walk into any team anywhere.

Great post.

I think JV said it all. Players like Boban are made, players like Savicevic are born. I mean no disrespect to Boban, he was a great player and I would say definitely more consistent than Savicevic, but Il Genio was true art.
You have to see his games to appreciate it....
