Marie felt a little worn out from the work out so she took her time in making her way back to her apartment. Before she arrived, though, she happened to run into her friend, the aforementioned Firdaus. She thought he seemed distracted or bothered by something when they met upon contact.

"Is something wrong?" she asked, not bothering to beat around the bush.
Firdaus grimaced. "It's a case at the firm. It's tough..."
