New York Power signs Saskia Webber from the Philadelphia Charge

Goalkeeper Saskia Webber was obtained from the Philadelphia Charge in exchange for undisclosed future considerations.

Webber, 30, appeared in 12 games last season for the Charge and posted a record of 4-5-3. She played 998 minutes, making 44 saves while allowing 18 goals for a 1.62 GAA. She was part of the 1999 National Team, which won the FIFA Women's World Cup, playing in seven matches during the 1999 season posting a record of 5-0-1. She has made 29 career appearances (27 starts) with the US National team, compiling a 20-4-1 record. During the 2000 Summer Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia, Saskia reported and did commentary for ESPN on women's soccer.

The 5-9 keeper attended Rutgers University between 1989-92 where she played for New York Power assistant coach Charlie Duccilli. She still holds the career record for shutouts with 32 and saves with 413 and helped lead the Scarlet Knights to four consecutive ECAC tournaments and three championships. During her senior year she was named MVP of the ECAC Tournament, First-Team All-America and won the Missouri Athletic Club Goalkeeper of the Year Award.
