With the derby only 4 days away and no one has opened a derby thread yet? :eekani:

This is Zvezda's game of the season and a way of possibly keeping the title at the Marakana. I expect us to go out and attack and finally a derby that will be worth watching, unfortunately I won't be able to watch it because I'm away for the weekend. Ticket prices are high for this game but I'm sure fans will be there, after all they have probably missed going to a zvezda game this season. The last big game was vs PSV, I'm sure there will be at least 40,000. Anyway I expect us to win, well because we're playing Partizan and I am putting my name forward for the traditional avatar bet, anyone care to join me?

Napred Zvezdo!!

Before opening this topic, you should wait till the end of tomorrow games. Then we would see if this Derby really makes any sense other than being residual of the former Belgrade folclor.

I didn't realize it man, I thought the next round was on the weekend and the derby after that...

If the gap is still 5 points come derby-time (i.e. if it does not increase) I expect Vermez to be careful and focus more on defending than attacking, i.e. he'll be happy with a draw. Then it all depends what Dostanic does. If he (or someone else in the club) decides that there is no chance of winning the title, he'll go in with the "samo da se ne obrukamo" attitude - very careful that is - and we'll see another boring 0-0 draw. If Zvezda decides to make one last ditch effort for the title or at least a derby win to keep the Delije happy, and comes out attacking and all guns blazing, I believe Partizan will exploit this overeagerness and win with a low score, 1-0 or 2-0.

It all depends on what happens tomorrow as others have stated. Go Zeleznik!!!!!!!

Andrix
April 20th, 2005, 04:29
Wishful thinking. Zeleznik is 13th in the table. Partizan is 1st.

Never say never Andrija. I'm not so sure it will be that easy of a game...we need to score early if we want to cruise past them because the more time on the clock ticks away and the score is 0-0 it will get tougher and tougher because the Zeleznik players always have some weird motivation against us.

Andrix
April 20th, 2005, 05:16
"Weird motivation"...it's called they are Zvezda's "friendly" club.

And what about the bet?

Krle
April 20th, 2005, 17:29
I'm all for it, so sign up people.

Rules:
- 1 month (or shorter, suggestions are welcome)
- The losing party has to wear a fullsize avatar of the other team, either Zvezda or P-zan
- Those who enter and do not honour the bet can be called forumdonkey from now on.
- PV can't enter since he's such a donkey. :D

Anyway, I'm pretty sure we're gonna win this one against our 'European' neighbours. Even moreso, Pantelic will probably be the one to sink them. It'll be a close match since Pekmez will be coming for a draw.

RTS will be showing the match either live or on tapedelay, so it says on their site.

NAPRED ZVEZDO! :fero:

I wouldn't enter such a ridicilous thing again anyways..Just a question, where were the suggestions for the bet when Partizan was the host in the first part of the year? There weren't any then and so I don't see why there should be a bet now either.

I dont know why but i have a feeling that this game will be stopped and that there will be big fights in the stands especially if Partizan are winning.

I hope Pink will show a tape delay of the match. In the past few weeks they've shown tape delays of less important games. It would be a shame if they didn't do the same with the derby.

"Vecita prica", 124. put

22.04.2005 13:15

http://www.sportskacentrala.com/fudbal/logo/124-veciti-derbi-logo-m.jpg

U ukupnom "skoru", racunajuci i Kup i prijateljske utakmice, domacin narednog derbija je još ubedljiviji - 93 pobede, 50 remija i 62 poraza uz gol razliku 340:281.

Fonet
Fonet

Belgrade duo set for derby decider

Friday, 22 April 2005

By Aleksandar Boskovic

Saturday's 124th Belgrade derby between FK Crvena Zvezda and FK Partizan is a pivotal meeting that could decide the Serbo-Montenegrin title race.
Dominant campaignPartizan lead the way after an exceptional campaign that has seen them score more goals than any other team, concede fewer and fail to win just two of their 23 matches - both draws. With such a record, the fact Crvena Zvezda are even in contention is testament to the 1991 European champions' own good form.

'Big chance'
'Red Star' are five points adrift, having themselves lost just once all season, but their coach Ratko Dostanic knows the home side must defeat their arch-rivals if they are to regain the title. "We must win," he said. "The derby is our big chance to move within two points of Partizan."

Quiet confidence
Dostanic, without injured defender Bojan Miladinovic on Saturday, admits that even with a victory, his team will still need their opponents to falter elsewhere - yet he is confident they are in the right condition to up the pressure. "I believe we can win," Dostanic said. "My players have hit their best form at just the right time."

Historic edge
History is certainly on Crvena Zvezda's side. Since the clubs' first derby in January 1947, they have lost just ten of 61 home encounters, winning 32. Their stadium Marakana is an intimidating place, and a capacity 50,000 crowd is expected at the weekend, a remarkable figure given the First League average is around 1,500.

'Final step'
Almost 30,000 squeezed into Partizan's ground in October when the sides drew 0-0 in the reverse fixture, and Partizan coach Vladimir Vermezovic knows a repeat result will see his team take a major step towards their 19th league championship - Crvena Zvezda have 23. "The current five-point gap is not enough to give us peace of mind but I believe we have the talent and courage to make this final step," he said.

Buoyed by Boya
"We have had a brilliant season, with fantastic results in the UEFA Cup, but the domestic title was always our target." Vermezovic is boosted by Pierre Boya's return from an ankle injury and the Cameroonian forward could help end Crvena Zvezda hopes. If so, the red-and-whites will get an early chance of revenge when the clubs meet again in a Serbo-Montenegrin Cup semi-final in May.

Thanks guys for pointing that little mistake buy UEFA site...Zvezdara stadium?

Anyway, thanks to Lopuza for posting the results. That, my dear Grobari, is your mirror. That is why you are the small Belgrade club from Humska, living in the shadow of the mighty Crvena Zvezda. You can't erase 60 years of history with a win over Egaleo.

Hmm I hate it when something like this happens. Either I can wake up early and follow through some audio on the internet, which cuts of frequently, as best as I can live. Or, wake up later, do something else till that time in the afternoon and watch it on T.V. on delay without knowing the outcome.. Although it isn't the same as following a match live obviously, I think I'll go for the latter option.. :)

Yugoslavia "Big Four" Head-to-Head 1946-1991

The Big Four, obviously consists of Crvena zvezda Beograd, Dinamo Zagreb, Hajduk Split, and Partizan Beograd (alphabetical sequence). Between 1946 and 1991, these clubs let go only five championship titles: Vojvodina (1966 and 1989), FK Sarajevo (1967 and 1985), and Zeljeznicar Sarajevo (1972). Crvena zvezda won record 19 titles, followed by Partizan with 11, Hajduk with 9, and Dinamo with 4. They also dominated Yugoslav Cup. Crvena zvezda won 13 cups, Hajduk 9, Dinamo 7, and Partizan 4.

Here are head-to-head all time scores between these teams:

Crvena zvezda P W D L Gf-Ga Pts

vs Dinamo 90 32 28 30 120-115 92
vs Hajduk 92 32 25 35 125-128 89
vs Partizan 88 41 24 23 142-123 106
------------------------------
total: 270 105 77 78 387-366 287

Dinamo P W D L Gf-Ga Pts

vs C. zvezda 90 30 28 32 115-120 92
vs Hajduk 90 33 26 31 123-121 92
vs Partizan 90 32 21 37 124-129 85
------------------------------
total: 270 95 75 100 362-370 265

Hajduk P W D L Gf-Ga Pts

vs C. zvezda 92 35 25 32 128-125 95
vs Dinamo 90 31 26 33 121-123 88
vs Partizan 88 24 23 41 104-141 71
------------------------------
total: 270 90 74 106 353-389 254

Partizan P W D L Gf-Ga Pts

vs C. zvezda 88 23 24 41 123-142 70
vs Dinamo 90 37 21 32 129-124 95
vs Hajduk 88 41 23 24 141-104 105
------------------------------
total: 266 101 68 97 393-370 270

According to the above, here is the all time standings:

P W D L Gf-Ga Pts
1. Crvena zvezda 270 105 77 78 387-366 287
2. Partizan 266 101 68 97 393-370 270
3. Dinamo 270 95 75 100 362-370 265
4. Hajduk 270 90 74 106 353-389 254

They continued their sucesses even after Yugoslavia split. Hajduk and Dinamo (earlier HASK Gradjanski, today: Croatia) won all titles and all Croatian cups except one. Partizan and Crvena zvezda won all cups and allowed only one championship to Obilic since they started playing in Yugoslav League after 1991.

We can even go back further into history, before World War II. Hajduk won titles in 1927 and 1929. Crvena zvezda, although founded in 1945, continued tradition of SK Jugoslavija (same ground, several players continued their careers in Crvena zvezda...). SK Jugoslavija won titles in 1924 and 1925. Dinamo's story is special one as well. They (unofficially) merged from Gradjanski (champions in 1923, 1926, 1928, and 1937), Concordia (champions in 1930 and 1932), and HASK (champions in 1938). The only other big pre-war team was BSK Beograd, and its tradition was inherited by rather moderate OFK Beograd.

Obviously Red Star has won more titles before and where did I exactly deny that? Why should it matter to me anyways? I don't support Partizan because of past glory or so I can be like the Juve, Milan etc. supposed "fans" at this site and gloat every other minute. I'm aware of Flajmurtari, 0-5 to Dinamo, the 24 wins out of 88 matches against Red Star etc. My club's stadium is half the size of yours, it doesn't have a roof and furthermore has ugly yellow-blue-maroon seats. But you know what though? All of these things only motivate me to like the club even more! And for me personally there's no better feeling that being at that stadium with fellow Partizan fans. On the other hand, other than gloating about titles from the 60's, 70's, Bari and so forth. what exactly do you have for Red Star? Apparently very little, because pretty much everything you do is list old (and I literally mean "old" :D) success stories for your club..

I agree with you if we're talking about the past. RS was dominant over all those three clubs. RS had name, prestige, attracted the best players, had first pick over the best talents, made the best players in the old Yugoslavia. But that was in the old Yugoslavia. In the new (SCG) country, things changed. Zvezda lost a lot of the things that made her great. The fact that you've won only 3 (I think) titles since 91/2 and Partizan & Obilic (1) the rest, shows that you are not dominant anymore in SCG and that things have changed in favour of Partizan. I'm being realistic, don't you agree? I don't think you are a better organized club then us, you haven't won as many championships, you don't necessarily attract the best talents, our infrastructure has improved while yours hasn't and the name & prestige of being a RS player is not as strong as it once was.

How can a club lose its historical achievements? You are right Crvena Zvezda is no longer the dominant club, but don’t forget that Partizan had the backing of the regime during the SFRJ and yet in failed to achieve the greatness that Crvena Zvezda achieved from 1945-1992. I do not agree about how Crvena Zvezda had access to the best players, it appears that from what I know about the histories of the two clubs, most players preferred to play for Crvena Zvezda. Partizan in fact utilize scare tactics to get some of the players to play for them, including putting a gun to a players head to make him play for Partizan, well documented incidents. As for wining only 3 titles, that is ok, but one must keep in mind that was during a regime that favored Partizan…do you think for a moment that officiating is fair currently in the domestic league, why are so many players and clubs saying the obvious, that certain club or clubs have their way when it comes to officiating…yes things have changed in Partizan’s favor all right. No, I have to agree with you Crvena Zvezda is not a better organized club anymore…it does not have the resources or the expertise it once had…no we have not won as many championships during the short existence of SCG, but that would be taking a time slice of competitions that favor Partizan, since Crvena Zvezda and Partizan have been competing against each other since 1945…no we do not attract the best talents, but then there are no talents to be had…just look at the BIG four Crvena Zvezda, Partizan, Dinamo, and Hajduk…they are all suffering. I am not sure about the infrastructure…Crvena Zvezda definitely needs new leadership to take it into the new millennium; Dzajic is no longer the answer for this task. Once again you are taking a time slice in which Crvena Zvezda is in a crisis…I believe this will pass, more investment will come from outside, the academy for developing youth will be built…it is just a mater of time, the people with money are waiting to see current regime replaced, and the laws changed, then they will invest. Crvena Zvezda players are playing for lot of international clubs, so I am confused what you are talking about, maybe they are not worth the big money that Zvezda once got for some of its players, but that is to be expected…I have not seen a truly talented player since Pizon.

rsf, just a heads up it's about as low budget broadcasting as it gets. They have ONE camera which they move from left to right to follow play. Don't be expecting any unique angles or close up views ;) Also, make sure to have a timer by your side because you'll have to keep track on your own what minute of the match it is..And whatever you do, DO NOT move away from the TV during play. If you miss a goal, you won't see it again, at least not on TV. It's only replayed once (twice at most) right after the goal is scored.. The announcer is also some young, "tatin sin", who himself doesn't know how he got the position (well thanks to some connections, that's for sure). Just listen to him "analyze" things..;)

Whatever though, what matters most is that you get a clear picture and sound from the stadium..Screw all the other modern-Western technologies :D

Do you want to be in this bet or not?

For us that are in the bet lets set a few rules beforehand. Drulo has already set down some rules which are good. My suggestion for the avatars:
They have to be one of the choices from the custom Xtratime ones.
Also, lets make the bet duration one month.
The rest as Drulo has said.

If no one replies to this post with objections/suggestions, it stays. Cool.

Writing SHALL instead of SHELL to me is something a 6th grader would know..You were the one that brought up this whole illiteracy thing anyways, not me. Also, I love how you throw in the occasional Belgrade slang words, probably picked up in various movies, series' etc. while at the same time when writing Serbian not making any sense at all.. :D

Yeah something 6th grader would be aware of in class, but class is dismissed, this is the internet as I said before...I said you were illiterate for different reasons not because of basic spelling and grammar, but because you take things out of context and behave just like a 6th grader. Now listen here boy every one understands me when I speak or write Serbian even Croats, Bosnians, Slovenians, and Macedonians but somehow I confusing only you of all the people, amazing is in it? No, that is how I speak Serbian; I was 11 years old when I left Yugoslavia that is what I learned then that is what I know now, I am sorry if I confuse you boy.

rsf, just a heads up it's about as low budget broadcasting as it gets. They have ONE camera which they move from left to right to follow play. Don't be expecting any unique angles or close up views ;) Also, make sure to have a timer by your side because you'll have to keep track on your own what minute of the match it is..And whatever you do, DO NOT move away from the TV during play. Is it really that crap? That's a bit disappointing. I guess it's because it's not RTS. Do you also have the problem of the sound being at least 2-3 seconds ahead of the picture, if you know what I mean?

Nislija, a grobar with balls, the rest of you, except JV, should be ashamed of yourselves. I see I also missed all of PV's Canadian bacon smack, which is good, since it's usually pretty boring stuff. :D

Serbian TV messed up as usual. RTS showing the match at 00.30 and Pink Extra at 21.00. Which is pretty sh!tty for a saturdaynight.

Still, the most important thing today is that we win and I'm more confident than ever. I liked Panta's latest comment on how not even Dida could stop him.:shades:

Interesting quote..

Now PV, we know your opinion, it's obviously based on fear, but ok. Here you have the opinion of your captain. He still wakes up at night, sweaty, like some Vietnam veteran, scared of Zvezda and our superiority.

Today you'll get crushed misevi! :fero:

Interesting that Ciric is on the bench for the start and also Radovic losing his first place spot for the first time in about 3,4 gams. We're playing with 4 defenders and with nadj there's another defensive minded player. I guess Vermez is going for a draw.....

April 23rd, 2005, 15:42
Purger, on the RTS site it says that the match won't be shown live, not on satellite or on RTS 2. So you're out of luck.

Now, I know why the public is not going to the games…I mean during the Basta foul they wasted about 4 minutes…yet the referee only extended the game by two minutes…and most the offside calls were questionable…I am beginning to believe that this could all be fixed, it would be a shame…

This means we'll beat you in the cup match (by extrapolation) http://skins.hotbar.com/skins/mailskins/em/062802/062802ball_prv.gif

Next year it will be ours again. It's set up.

On RadioBG some doctor said Basta broke his elbow? EEEK don't know how you do that but it sounds like a very nasty injury. It didn't look like anyone tried to hurt him on purpose. Nadj went in for a sliding tackle and Basta fell on his left arm, Nadj's leg looked to have slid over his arm.

I can see why they both Dinamo and Partizan hate Crvena Zvezda…just look at the scores from their encounters…that would explain everything, and of course look at all the people involved in the management of both clubs…

Nadj slid in on him pretty hard. And knowing Nadj, it may well have been on purpose, although no-one could have known Basta would break his arm.

Yeah, Lopuza, they can fix pretty much every match in the league, but not this one. The hate between the fans is matched by our chairmen. Bjekovic hates Dzaja and vice versa. Believe me, even Dzaja wouldn't sell his soul to the devil.
CL means money, in our case money we miss out on. The financial gap is already there but it will only increase next season. Also, now that we're out of CL, expect us to lose all of our best players. CL was our only hope of keeping them and even that was a long shot.

Why? So you can lose 5-0 again? With the team you'd have in the summer (this team minus its best players), it'd be a crime to send you to the CL.

I lost all fait in FSSCG and “1. liga” long time ago, today’s game confirms what the small clubs have been saying and complaining about for a long time…everything can be fixed if there is a way to divide the spoils…Why was Bulatovic shot, there seems to be some dirty crap going on in our sports, not just football? Could there be a Croatian connection on fixing the games as was done in Germany?

Crvena Zvezda has some nice players Nenad Kovacevic, Basta, Pantelic, Zigic, Lukovic they must keep all these players or they will bottom out…Zvezda could use some new blood in the middle, since obviously Partizan seems to dominate the midfield.

Ha ha ha.

That would be true if only the fans were saying that there is something wrong with the league…but as I said before many coaches and players from smaller clubs are saying the same thing…irregularities in officiating as well as predictable outcome of some games...Is this why domestic league games only mange to attract 1500 fans? Think about it, why is that players, coaches and fans seem to all be in agreement, when it comes to our football league? Is it really a conspiracy theory?

Andrix
April 23rd, 2005, 19:04
No more than Partizan's clear goal in the derby being disallowed last season, or that one season that Zvezda had the most penalties awarded (like one/game) or those few games that run like 5 mins into extra time until Zvezda could equalise the other season, or how most of the functions in the savez are occupied by zvezdasi...etc. etc.

If it's some conspiracy, then everybody's in it.

I thought Zvezda were terrible today. THey were using the kick-the-ball-long-and-hope-for-the-best strategy more than any Norweigan side ever has. Apart from the first 10 mins they couldn't string two passes together, literally. Only Kovacevic and Lukovic showed anything. Jankovic was an absolute zero today. I apologise for going on about Zvezda, but this is the first time I've seen them play this year, and they were really dissapointing. Partizan were nothing special today either, but we are clearly a class above.
p.s. The fans are idiots.

Pretty much summed up my thoughts. Also I thought the second half was boring, if we were a bit more ambitious, we could have won. I think we won the championship today, so for the less important Cup game I expect Vermez to be more agressive and we should beat this RS team without too much problem.

Andrix
April 23rd, 2005, 19:56
Yeah, today was what we all expected from Vermez...playing to be safe. The Cup match should be a more relaxed affair, I mean the only thing it decides is whether Rad/Zeleznik or 4th placed team in the table goes to the UEFA Cup.
