My favourite rockbands are japanese and korean (like Lena Park, L'Arc En Ciel, Loreley, Tokyo Yankees...)
Hungarian rock is also good, de nem egészen az én esetem, persze van azért 1-2 kivétel.

Kispál is my gf's favorite Hungarian band, we saw them in Esztergom, I didn't think they were too bad as far as Hungarian rock goes, they have some decent songs.

As for Zanzibar, I hadn't heard that about their signer, though I had heard she's a lesbian. Almost everyone I know here has some contact with them, either played basketball with the signer, or has an uncle who taught the band in high school or somethine like that, kinda uncanny.

She is a female singer from Taiwan (China).

Okay time 4 an update from me :)

First baby V.O.X is really hard to get hold of on kazaa but got "sugar baby" not to keen on it. I'll try on DC++

The likes of kispál and the like which was offered to me ain't what I regularly listen to but many thanks for these informations.

Cartel is v.good but Avain is out of this world I especially like "Ysist Viiteen" and " Pullon Sisäll" but I shall search for more.

Igen, az YG Family és a Drunken Tiger a legnépszerübb koreai hip hop együttesekhez tartoznak. De most 1TYM, Lexy és Tasha is kezdenek feljönni. Lexy albuma például most nemsokára fog megjelenni.

I was wondering, how does Hungarian folk music sound like? what country is it closest to? Austria?

Theres absolutly no connection to Austria. Its often melancolic and sad, typical instruments are violin, citra, and pipes. To a somewhat modern versions of it you should listen to Sebestyjén Márta for example. Im sure sanyi has more and better info.
Just a note: gypsy music is not hungarian folk music.

Its an interesting question. Bela Bartok could tell a lot about how Hungarian and Slovak/Romanian/Croatian etc folk music had influenced each-other. I bet there are a lot of common elements, and it differs rather geographically. But there are melancholic ones with slow crying violin, as well as really cheerful rhytmic ones. I adore some of them, the bass sometimes weird:)
Gipsy music is also connected to Hungary but its a different type of music, mainly played by gipsy bands at restaurants and includes different kinds of music, including Hungarian folk. As far as i know.

Ok i find it funny though to talk (or sing) about Magyar nemzeti Hip Hop. To me its a self contradiction, but i guess its culture so anything is allowed. :) Not my melody though but what do they mean with "Vajdasági falfirkálók"? As far as i know its others who do that.

yes, Majka Papa is okay,
there are 3-4 sonds he is involved in that are real good.

my fave Hungarian rap artist are from the "underground" scene.

- Sample Delix (only really had one song)

Hm...I haven't been to Berlin since...2002. Spent two days then, went to a club, Kato I think it was called...one or two S-Bahn stops after Kottbuser Tor...didn't sleep the whole time I was there...
