Ambis don't worry about this guy, he's not a big fish. He actually changed his nick here so this nick would look more like mine

The article doesn't belong here anyway since the game was won by the Albanian NT, not the Kosovar NT.

Let's let the Kosova moderators determine what belongs here or not. I think it does and that's why I put it in.

PRISTINA, Serbia-Montenegro (AFP) - Thousands of ethnic Albanians took to the streets of Kosova's capital Pristina to celebrate neighbouring Albania's 2006 world Cup qualifier win over European champions Greece.

The honking of car-horns and the sound of fire-crackers overtook the UN-administered province's largest city after a surprising victory of Albania's national team over the Greeks.

A UN police official said no extraordinary security measures were undertaken in the capital Pristina.

"We have normal security precautions in place, but at the end of the day it's a joyous event and it would be very unfortunate if something sad happened," UN police spokesman in Pristina, Malcolm Ashby told AFP.

Some 90 percent of the population in the southern Serbian province are ethnic-Albanians. Kosova went through a devastating war between majority Albanians and minority Serbs in 1999.

Kosova's Albanians want independence from Serbia, while minority Serb want the province to remain under Belgrade's control.

Congrats on the win to you and your brothers in Albania!

Thanks Ante and dont worry bout them and Admin will step by here and delete some things that are not related to this thread
I was in stadium together with thousands of fans that traveld from Kosova, and the celebration was also in Kosova... a big projector was in the center of Prishtina for the ones that wanted to watch the game outside.

Shiiit I didn't know we had our own thread .

Anyway, I'm kosovarian .

I'm from Prishtina but I cheer mostly teams that's from Llapi because I enjoy life on Besiana/Podujevė and that my origin is from Llapashtica , where the hell is Besiana? They won the league a couple of years ago. Are the new system kind of USAs basketball system, if so it sucks. I don't want playoffs (haha I guess they have already changed it so no need to complain )

Oh btw: My father, has played for Flamurtai back in the 70 and little bit in the 80s. He has also played for Llapi, where he even today is famous . My uncle was the one that named Flamurtari, he came up with the idea of the team called: Flamurtari and he has also played for Flamurtari! Nowdays I think they suck .

Do we got any talents?

I don't have a sig.

Well yeah Besjana were good, but last season due to some financial problems some of the key players left the club and they were all the way in the bottom of the league and in the end relegated.

And these are the results of the 3rd week:

Prishtina - Kosova( P ) 3-2
Vllaznimi - Liria 1-3
Besa - Ferizaj 3-0
Llapi - Drita 1-3
KEK-u - Flamurtari 1-1
Drenica - Trepca'89 2-0

1. Drenica 2-1-0 4:1 =7
2. KEK-u 2-1-0 5:3 =7
3. Besa 2-0-1 7:1 =6
4. Liria 2-0-1 5:3 =6
5. Prishtina 2-0-1 6:4 =6
6. Drita 1-2-0 4:2 =5
7. Flamurtari 1-1-1 3:3 =4
8. Trepēa ’89 1-1-1 1:2 =4
9. Kosova (P) 1-0-2 4:5 =3
10.Llapi 1-0-2 3:5 =3
11.Ferizaj 0-0-3 1:7 =0
12.Vėllaznimi 0-0-3 1:8 =0

The best albanian footballer that I've heard people talk about is Fadil Vokrri. I wonder if you guys have any clips or something. Never seen him in action but my father has praised him to the sky! He was a student to my father...

Yes Mussav, Prishtina is the most famous club in Kosova.
Has total 12 titles, followed from Vllaznimi with 9 titles, Trepca 6 etc.
Err, just a little question. How can Pristina (is this the same FK Priština that competed in the Prva savezna liga until 1998/99? I do remember that most of their players were Albanian) have 12 titles if the Albanian Kosovo league has been playing separately only since 1999? Even if the Albanians have been playing separate tournaments since 1989 or 91 (which I haven't heard of) 14+9+6 still doesn't add up. Also, is the Trepca you mention the same as the FK Trepča that competed in last season's SCG Cup or some other team?

Btw, I hardly see how my first post in this thread warranted deletion, I just pointed out a fact: this league is not recognized by UEFA just like the old separate ethnic leagues in Bosnia were not recognized. Anyways...

Come on guys, there's no need for that. Leagues like this are nothing unusual. Did you know there is a Republic of Srpska league in Bosnia?

Prishtina was in 1st Yugoslavian League, was also in 2nd... and for a team from Kosova to enter in 2nd Yugoslavian league thay had to win Kosova Region League !
The winner of course was champion of Kosova and also had rights to compete in 2nd Yugoslavian League and so on...

Ah, so you are talking about srpska liga - Kosovo (or maybe it was called kosovska liga at some point). How can you count that though? That was like, a Yugoslav division III...not a real championship.

Thats the way to read it in albanian.
See you got team Partizan Beograd, while in Albania is a team Partizani Tirana. And it has the same meaning of word 'partizan'.
