Chaos in Turkey

Sad to see. İstiklal Caddesi, which is like the Oxford Street or Nathan Road of Istanbul.

If anything was fortunate about today's bombing, it was that it happened in the morning, before the masses go out shopping after noon.

Bombings now seem to be a weekly occurrence.

What will this lead to? more Eastern towns to be laid under siege like Cizre?

Before the General elections Erdogan threatened the country, saying there will be bloodshed if his party doesn't win majority of seats.

People listened, Kurdish aligned HDP lost votes to AKP.

Now we have a bombing every month.

These things wouldn't happen if Turkey would just deport all Muslims.

Oh, wait...

Not a great start to 2017. 39 shot dead in an Istanbul nightclub shooting.

From the foreigners murdered, most seem to be from Middle Eastern countries. Istanbul I guess also like what Dubai is to alcohol drinking and partying Saudis.

Seems like Islamists in Turkey are one step ahead of those in Indonesia. In Indonesia we've had a lot of crying about santa hats this year, but to complain about New Years celebrations and calling upon followers to boycott NYE celebrations as they are contrary to Islam, that's unheard of even among the most fanatical in Indonesia.

Has there ever been a terrorist attack in either Indonesia or Malaysia? I do know that the Muslims here practice female genital mutilation (gross/yuck).

What to expect of a nation turning so radical that there are people abusing and attacking those who dare to acknowledge Christmas or New Years.

Yeah saw those pics. The rhetoric is toxic.

Zico btw, selamat menempuh hidup baru

yeah, and smaller scale attacks on churches, Shia Muslims and Ahmadiyyas, by fringe groups, that must be said.

Having said that, Indonesia's main problem is education. Lack of investment (instead, petrol is heavily subsidized, hurrah) but more importantly poor teaching methods which leads to a lack of critical thinking in general. Standards are lagging way behind those of Vietnam for example, a lower income country.
Instead we see the government too actively promote religion.

IMO a waste of brainpower. Instead of engineers, language teachers, medical staff, proper skills, there's a complete surplus of Islamic studies graduates and it's all so superficial too. Folks everywhere talking about morality, trying to outdo each other in religiosity etc when it's one of the most corrupt societies on the planet at all levels.

No wonder some people would rather see a more secular dictator like Suharto return. Downside of course is that he basically sliced the country's economy among his family and golfing buddies.

I know most of you are shocked why these things are happening in Turkey all of sudden.

But Turkey has always been this way, you are just hearing about it more often now.... actually there are still a lot going on that you don't hear about.

No, it hasn't always been like this.

Wally, terima kasi. Saya menggunakan Google Translate karena satu-satunya kata yang saya pelajari adalah "ganteng".
