Maksimovic, Napoli-Toro showdown
By Football Italia staff

Napoli have presented their final offer for Torino's Nikola Maksimovic, and a resolution is expected by tomorrow evening.

The Partenopei's insistence on the 24-year-old talent playing for the Granata has reached its highest point.

According to Il Mattino, Napoli are now offering €15m along with €2m in bonuses, and an extra €3m should their team make it into the Champions League.

This brings the potential total to €20m, which is still a bit short of President Urbano Cairo's original demand of €25m.

Il Mattino suggests that this is the very last offer that the Vesuviani are willing to make, and that should it be turned down, they will look for other targets.

The publication further reports that an answer by Cairo is expected by tomorrow evening.

Cairo: ‘De Laurentiis my lucky charm’
By Football Italia staff

Torino President Urbano Cairo calls Napoli’s Aurelio De Laurentiis ‘my lucky charm’, and says the club’s transfer campaign is over.

The Partenopei patron declared yesterday that Toro’s Nikola Maksimovic was not worth more than the €12m being offered, and Cairo recalls similar situations for other players.

“De Laurentiis is my lucky charm,” Cairo told Radio 24.

“Years ago, he wanted [Angelo] Ogbonna and offered €5m, then I sold him [to Juventus] for €15m. He offered €10m for Darmian, and now we’ve sold him [to Manchester United] for €20m…

“Torino’s transfer campaign is officially over. We’re satisfied, even if the final verdict will come on the pitch.

“We sold Matteo Darmian because we’d made a promise and we wanted to respect it, but we’ve kept everyone else and the team will be stronger.

“[New signing Andrea] Belotti is a player we like a lot, he was our first choice, and in fact we’ve been trying everything to get him.”

Despite finishing above Milan last season and enjoying a run in the Europa League, Cairo insists the priority for the Granata is still survival.

“We have to work well on the pitch now and try to get good results. We shouldn’t feel pressure, the main thing is get to 40 points, then go from there.

“We do things step-by-step, without expecting anything.”

Toro talks Bruno Peres extension
By Football Italia staff

Torino reportedly meet with Bruno Peres to discuss an extension, closing to a potential Roma transfer.

The winger's contract ends in June 2017 and the Giallorossi's insistence over the summer suggested a transfer was likely.

While no deal was found by the deadline, Peres remains a possible target for the Giallorossi in the next winter transfer window, or even next year.

The player may be getting more distant, however, as Calciomercato.it reports of a meeting between the player and Torino today to discuss an extension of his contract.

The new deal would include an adjustment of the player's salary and would leave the club in a much stronger position should they decide to sell the player after all.

Torino await Belhanda news
By Football Italia staff

Torino are still waiting for an answer from Dynamo Kiev for creative midfielder Younes Belhanda.

Italian papers today suggest Toro made an offer to take the player on loan for €1.5m, plus an option to buy for a further €8.5m including performance-related bonuses.

The club in Ukraine are not in any particular rush to give Toro a reply, as they would prefer to sell outright for €10m.

It’s reported Torino already agreed terms with Belhanda and the player wants this transfer, but there is another issue at play.

Schalke 04 could dive in for Belhanda if their negotiations with Corinthians fall through for Renato Augusto.

Naturally, Dynamo Kiev hope to spark a bidding war and raise the price-tag.

Torino-PSG talks for Sirigu
By Football Italia staff

Torino and Paris Saint-Germain are believed to be in talks to define a loan of goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu.

The Italian is currently reduced to backbencher for Kevin Trapp and is looking for playing time away from the French club.

According to Tuttosport, there has been a contact between the Granata and the Parisians with a view to a possible loan.

The goalkeeper is financially somewhat beyond Torino's capacity, but PSG are reportedly willing to contribute up to 50 per cent of the expenses for the player.

The two clubs are believed to have another meeting scheduled in the near future to discuss the details in greater depth.

Quagliarella to replace Eder?
By Football Italia staff

Torino’s Fabio Quagliarella will reportedly replace Eder at Sampdoria, with Jacopo Sala of Verona also set to arrive.

The Blucerchiati have been very active on the transfer market in the last few days, with Andrea Ranocchia arriving from Inter, as Milan Škriniar joining from MŠK Žilina this morning.

There have also been a number of departures, with top-scorer Eder joining Inter, and Vasco Regina and Ervin Zukanovic set to leave for Napoli and Roma respectively.

Gianluca Di Marzio’s website reports that Samp are very close to securing deals for both Quagliarella and Sala.

Quagliarella is persona non grata at Torino after a dispute with the club’s fans, while Paweł Wszołek will join Verona permanently as part of the deal for Sala.

After long negotiations with Napoli for Valdifiori, Torino gave up and bought the Greek midfielder Panagiotis Tachtsidis instead.

Anyway, here he is, while signing the contract with Petrachi.

In the meanwhile Toro also gave 7 million euros to Roma and converted the loan of Iago Falqué into a full transfer.

The Brazilian defender Carlao also joined Torino. The cost was 450,000-500,000 euros. "A bet" said Sinisa Mihajlovic "like Iturbe".
