Ora costa..soltanto 13 milioni. Se ne riparlerà. A breve.

We've already spent 40 mil if you count Bojan and Jose Valdes as "official". I don't think we've spent that much since the summer of 2001 when we bought Cassano, Pellizoli, Panucci, Lassissi, and Fuser.

And hopefully more will be spent, but the difference between now and that time is : I think the market prices are higher now with Man.City, Chelsea and likes around.

Without The American takeover we were going to become mediocre club. They are thankful for everything they are doing for us, and making us live the dream.
I think the main target is lowering the age of the team, build a team for future.A worthy squad, we all can feel proud of.:)

I suspect you were too young to remember, but Roma spent 30 Mil on 18 yr old Cassano, and around 20 mil on 20 yr old Pelizolli.

I am not sure there has been any 18 yr old sold for similar price as Cassano. The market will never be as inflated as it was back then.

I've been following the management of this club during this strange summer of transition for Roma, and it appears that the new owners have been smart enough to surrender the mercato and matters of player scouting and evaluations to the best transfer of the season thus far: the insane, chain-smokin', Capt. Cool Sabatini. I'm very impressed by Sabatini's savvy international approach to transfers, and I feel secure that he will get the most out of our money. It's something we've not had in a long time. Guidance. Not spending on the flavor of the month. I'm a little worried about the coach and others trying to adapt to Serie A and its unique world. But Forza. Let's keep it going. :proud:

Di Benedetto's press conference started

What are your priorities in the coming months?

The priority is to choose the best possible management team. We are chasing young players, they will make mistakes but we need to be patient. The priority is to create the best management team.

When can we talk about the scudetto?

Hopefully we can win the title as soon as possible. Rome was not built in days, the management will do its best to field best team possible.

Baldini is running the day to day operations of AS Roma. Sabatini is focusing on the players. The 2 have different specific roles.

According to Pierro torri of corriere dello sport, Totti refused to participate in press conference with Enrique and DI Benedetto when asked.
He also refused to take photographs with new jerseys.

I think Totti is feeling we are tanking next season, and preparing a team for the future. This is why he is not that happy with the project, because his time to win with us is now as he wont be here some years later.

Very disappointing if true. The captain is a great man, but he must realize that this isn't necessarily about him. It's about the team and its future. I hope he decides to come around. He gets paid a lot of money. Sulking is BS.

More on this from the other board.

UniCredit has spoken a bit on the rumors of Chinese investors. They say there are currently no negotiations underway, but that a group of Chinese investors has come forward and asked for information to possibly purchase 20% of UniCredit's 40% of AS Roma. They say Di Binedetto has given the ok for UniCredit to sell 20% of their stock should they come to an agreement with these Chinese investors. UniCredit is no waiting to hear back from the Chinese investors.

Some news from other board

Claudio Fenucci gave interview where he spelled out a lot of things:

When asked about how fans want to win he responded. We need to be honest. We receive a complex financial situation. Roma has for years lived beyond it's means. We have negative numbers and will have them for some time. Our plans will have the club sanitized by 2014. Until then we need to be careful and reduce our wages while trying to make investments in young players.

In regards to how they will increase revenue without champions or without winning he responds. The Stadium, only when we have our own stadium will we close the gap with Juventus, Inter, and Milan. In the meantime we need to work towards returning to European cups.

As been said many times, Patience is the key.We have to be patient.

The new management is not starting from scratch, they are starting from negatives with the shit work of previous management they inherited

Kevin Garnett to get limited stake in Roma

ROME (AP) — Boston Celtics All-Star forward Kevin Garnett is about to become a small shareholder in the American-owned Roma football club.

Roma has confirmed to The Associated Press that Garnett accepted an offer from James Pallotta, one of the four Boston executives that closed a deal in August to become the first foreign majority owners of a Serie A club.

Pallotta is also a minority owner of the Celtics.

Details of the deal are still being worked out, but Garnett could also be used in the promotion of the Roma brand.

Earlier this year, Garnett's fellow NBA star LeBron James obtained a small stake in English Premier League club Liverpool from the Fenway Sports Group.

New Roma president Thomas DiBenedetto is also a limited partner in the Fenway group, which owns the Boston Red Sox baseball team.
